News from United College Staff Association The Annual General Meeting of the United College Staff Association will be held at 12:45pm, 14 October 2005 (Friday) at the United College Staff Common Room, Top Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building. A buffet luncheon will be held after the meeting. The lunch fee is HK$30 per person. All Staff Association members are welcome to join. Advancements The following colleagues of the College have been promoted / advanced: * Prof Ha Sau Ching Amy from Dept. of Sports Science & Physical Education has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from 1 August 2005.
* Prof Lee Ching Chyi from Dept. of Decision Sciences & Managerial Economics has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from August 2005. * Prof Tang Jinling from Dept. of Community & Family Medicine has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from 1 August 2005. * Prof Tse Ching Biu from Dept. of Marketing has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from 1 August 2005. * Dr Chiu Chi Ming from Dept. of Biology has been promoted as Senior Instructor with effective from 1 August 2005. * Prof Pang Lai Kwan from Dept. of Cultural & Religious has been promoted as Associate Professor with effective from 1 August 2005.

迎戰二零零五年校長盃聯合運動群英大募集 數年一度的校長盃將於今年十一月廿日（初賽）及十一月廿七日（決賽）再度舉行。一如上屆，盃賽內容包括各項球類比賽及於決賽日舉行的同樂日。今年球類比賽則包括：籃球、足球、羽毛球、網球和乒乓球五項。 為著積極迎戰校長盃賽，書院已開始募集各路球藝精英，進行集訓，務求爭取最好成績。凡聯合書院全職教職員，均可報名參加。至於集訓時間及比賽詳情，將於稍後公佈。 有興趣參加的同事，請與學生輔導處陳鄧翠怡女士 ((：2609 8657)或陸敏兒女士 ((：2609 8654)聯絡。

2005 VC’s CUP The 2005 VC’s Cup will be held on two consecutive Sundays on 20 and 27 November 2005. Five types of matches including basketall, soccer, badminton, tennis and table tennis will be organized for staff of the University. A funfair for staff and their families will be held on 27 November 2005. United College is now organizing our own teams to taking part in the matches. Colleagues interested in joining please contact Mrs Eastre Chan ((：2609 8657) or Ms Amy Luk ((：2609 8654) of Dean of Students’ Office, United College. Practice sessions and match schedules will be announced soon.
