聯合學生於亞洲及太平洋區傷殘人士硬地滾球錦標賽勇奪獎牌
本院社會工作學系二年級學生劉恩賜，於二零零五年九月十六日至九月廿一日於馬來西亞吉隆坡舉行的亞洲及太平洋區傷殘人士硬地滾球錦標賽奪得BC4級別單打亞軍及雙打冠軍。
劉同學去年在希臘雅典舉行之傷殘人士奧林匹克運動會上亦奪得硬地滾球BC級別雙打金牌。
United College Student Wins trophies in Asia & South Pacific Championship 2005
Mr Lau Yan-chi, year 2 social work student of United College, has won the first runner up in Individual BC4 competition and Champion in Pairs BC4 competition in Asia & South Pacific Championship 2005 held in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur during 16 – 21 September 2005.
Yan-chi also won the gold medal of the BC4 Boccia pairs event in the 2004 Athens Paralympics.

聯合書院國際演講會
聯合書院國際演講會已於二零零五年九月六日正式向國際演講會註冊，成為中大校園內第二個國際演講會。國際演講會的主要宗旨在訓練會員公開演講的能力及技巧。
聯合書院國際演講會成立典禮於九月二十四日假湯若望宿舍禮堂舉行，該會邀得香港英國文化協會總監Ms Ruth Gee為贊助人。典禮當日Ms Gee、聯合書院馮國培院長及國際演講會香港H分區丁炳熊先生應邀出席為主禮嘉賓。
United College Toastmasters Club
United College Toastmasters Club has successfully chartered with the Toastmasters International on 6 September 2005 and become is the second Toastmasters Club in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Toastmasters Club is an international body with the aim to promote English public speaking skills. The Club’s motto is 'Take the Stage, Speak your World'.
The Inauguration Ceremony of the United College Toastmasters Club was held on 24 September 2005. Ms Ruth Gee, Director of British Council (Hong Kong) has accepted the Club’s invitation to be its Patron. Ms Gee, Professor K P Fung, College Head and Mr Arthur Ting, Toastmasters Club Division H Governor, Hong Kong officiated at the Inauguration Ceremony.
聯合書院學長計劃重新命名為「聯合書院岑才生學長計劃」
聯合書院的學長計劃自二零零零年成立至今，在書院和校友會的共同努力和衷誠合作下，已經成為聯合書院的一個傳統項目，這個項目每年都得到校友的踴躍支持和同學的熱烈參與，撮合了不少學長學員的組合。他們不但在參加計劃的一年中，互相學習，互相交流，達到學長計劃「教學相長」的目的；很多學長學員更從此成為好朋友，在大家的人生旅途上、生活和事業上，互相支持，互相鼓勵。
過去六年來，聯合書院校董會主席岑才生先生一直默默地在背後支持這個計劃，每年贊助整個計劃的全部經費。今年八月，他更捐出港幣一百五十萬元成立基金，用作長期資助學長計劃日後的發展。聯合書院及書院校友會為表達對岑先生的謝意，通過將聯合書院的學長計劃重新命名為「聯合書院岑才生學長計劃」。並特別安排於本年九月二十九日在九龍富豪酒店舉行的新一屆學長計劃迎新晚會上，邀請岑才生先生、馮國培院長及張煊昌會長主持命名禮揭幕儀式。
Naming of the United College Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme
The UC Mentorship Programme was jointly organized by United College and the UC Alumni Association. The Programme provides an opportunity for mentors and mentees to create one-to-one mutually supportive relationships over a period of one year and aims to foster friendship, cohesion and a sense of belongings among past and present students of United College. Since its inception in 2000, the Programme has been very well received by the participants and other parties concerned and was deemed a great success.
Over the past six years, the Mentorship Programme has received very generous financial support from Mr Shum Choi Sang, Chairman of United College Board of Trustees. In August this year, Mr Shum pledged his continued support to the Programme by donating HK$1.5 million to set up a fund for its future development. To express their sincere gratitude to Mr Shum, United College and the UC Alumni Association resolved to rename the Mentorship Programme as “United College Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme”. The naming ceremony was held on 29 September 2005 at the Kowloon Regal Hotel, and was officiated by Mr. Shum Choi Sang, the donor, Professor K P Fung, Head of United College and Dr Thomas Cheung, President of the UC Alumni Association.
