張煊昌體育館命名典禮

聯合書院張煊昌體育館命名典禮於二零零五年十一月二十八日舉行。是日聯合書院基金會主席暨校友會會長張煊昌博士伉儷、香港中文大學副校長楊綱凱教授、聯合書院校董會主席岑才生先生及聯合書院院長馮國培教授蒞臨主禮，近百位校董、校友、大學及書院同人、各界友好親臨觀禮及致賀，場面十分熱鬧。典禮後在體育館內安排了精彩的跳繩表演，並於文怡閣設茶會。

Thomas H C Cheung Gymnasium Naming Ceremony

The Thomas H C Cheung Gymnasium Naming Ceremony of United College was held on 28 November 2005. The ceremony was officiated by Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Chairman of the United College Endowment Fund Committee and President of the United College Alumni Association and Mrs Cheung; Professor Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Mr Shum Choi Sang, Chairman of the United College Board of Trustees and Professor K P Fung, Head of United College.

About a hundred guests, including trustees, alumni, university/college staff and friends of the College attended the ceremony and shared the joy of the occasion. A rope skipping performance was arranged inside the Gymnasium after the ceremony, followed by a tea reception at the College Staff Common Room.

書院五十周年院慶標誌設計比賽結果

聯合書院將於二零零六年慶祝創院五十周年紀念，書院特別提早舉辦五十周年院慶標誌設計比賽。比賽於二零零五年十月廿一日截止，書院共收到八十五個作品，分別由四十五位參賽者提交。

評判團由香港著名設計師鄭志明先生擔任主席評判，成員包括院長馮國培教授、校友會理事會副主席陸烱鉀先生、輔導主任劉行榕教授及學生會社會幹事郭譽豪同學。

書院於二零零五年十一月廿六日下午二時卅分在文怡閣舉行了評審暨頒獎典禮，邀請了八個決賽作品的參賽者親身向評判團講解設計的概念，並由評判團即席商討比賽結果。結果楊炎宏同學(訊工四)憑著簡潔的風格及設計體現了書院精神而獲得評判的賞識，勇奪冠軍大獎、亞軍關子謙校友(建築2001)、季軍黃澤源同學(建築二)。獲獎及其他參賽作品可於網頁(http://ihome.cuhk.edu.hk/~b111270/result.htm)瀏覽。

United College 50^th Anniversary Logo Design Competition Results

The 50^th Anniversary logo design competition of United College had been successfully concluded on 26 November 2005. 85 entries from 46 participants had been received.

The panel of judges included Mr Cheng Chi Ming, renowned designer; Professor K P Fung, College Head; Mr Henry K K Luk, Vice-Chairman of the Council, the Alumni Association of United College; Professor Alaster Lau, Dean of Students and Mr Kwok Yu Ho, Social Affairs Officer of the College Student Union Executive Committee.

At the Judging and Awards Presentation Ceremony on 26 November 2005, 8 finalists were invited to present their design concepts to the panel. The first prize went to Mr Yeung Yim Wang (IE 4), with his simple but thoughtful design that incorporated the College spirit and history. Alumni Mr Kwan Tsz Him (ARC 2001) won the first runners-up and Mr Wong Chak Yuen won the second runners-up awards respectively. 二零零五年度校長盃及教職員家庭同樂日

校長盃及教職員家庭同樂日已於二零零五年十一月廿七日在大學體育中心舉行。本院教職員籃球隊順利通過初賽及準決賽，於決賽日先後與崇基學院及逸夫書院對壘，經一番龍爭虎鬥後取得季軍。

書院職員同時於校長盃教職員家庭同樂日擺設攤位，進行美味自製小食、精品及玩具義賣，籌得善款二千三百元，悉數捐助匡智會松嶺窰。
