二零零五至二零零六年度書院獎學金

以下獎項已開始接受申請：

一.  黃李碧恥紀念獎學金(新增設)

獎額一名，港幣一萬元，由「李碧恥紀念基金」資助。旨在表揚在社會服務方面有傑出表現的社會工作學系同學。

二.  聯合書院謝婉雯醫生紀念獎學金

獎額共三名，每名港幣一萬元。旨在鼓勵本院醫科生積極參與社會服務，熱心公益，以發揚謝婉雯校友在沙士期間熱心助人的無私精神。

三.  書院傑出服務獎

獎額共六名，每名港幣一千元至一萬元。旨在獎勵於過去一年間在服務書院或推動書院活動方面表現傑出之同學。申請者須由書院行政人員提名。

四.  院長創作獎

五.  香港中文大學校友評議會傑出服務及創意學生獎

共設有四個獎項，包括社會服務獎、校內服務獎、人文學科創意獎及自然科學創意獎，分別頒予在社會服務、校內服務或創意方面有傑出表現的中大本科生，以表達中大校友扶掖後進之心。每名獎額為港幣一萬元。同學可於學生事務處網頁http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/osa/sfas下載申請表格。截止日期為二零零六年一月十三日。

除第五項外，以上各項獎學金的截止申請日期為二零零六年一月二十日。有關詳情及申請辦法，請參閱輔導處報告板、瀏覽書院網頁或逕向書院輔導處查詢。

Scholarships 2005/2006

Applications are now invited for the following scholarships:

1.   Mrs Eva Wong Memorial Scholarship (NEW)

This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$10,000, was established through a donation from the “Eva Li Memorial Fund”. The Scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has attained outstanding performance in community services.

2.   United College Dr Tse Yuen Man Memorial Scholarships

Three scholarships, HK$10,000 each, were established to encourage more young medical students to continue the vision of Dr Tse Yuen Man, a graduate of United College and a great fighter against SARS, in utilizing her  knowledge to cure suffering and save lives.

3.   Distinguished College Service Awards

There will be six awards ranging from HK$1,000 to HK$10,000. The prizes will be awarded to students having demonstrated outstanding development in academic and extra-curricular activities as well as of significant contributions to College or campus life in the year 2005. Candidates for these awards are nominated by staff of the College.

4.   Head of College Creativity Prize

The Head of College Creativity Prize has been established to promote student interest in creative projects. A cash prize of HK1,500 will be awarded to a student or a group of students who has demonstrated good creativity in an academic paper, research report, literary or musical composition, work of art or scientific invention completed withinthe last 12 months.

5.   CUHK Convocation Outstanding Services and Creativity Student Awards

There are four prizes of HK$10,000 each, including Outstanding Community Services Award; Outstanding Campus Services Award; Outstanding Creativity Award on Humanities and Outstanding Creativity Award on Natural Sciences. Application forms can be downloaded from the homepage of the Office of Student Affairs:http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/osa/sfas. Application will close on 13 January 2006.

Applications for the above scholarships 1 to 4 will close on  20 January 2006. For further details, please refer to the announcements on the College notice-boards, the College website or enquire at the Dean of Students' Office.

學生團體活動津貼撥款

二零零五下半年學生團體活動津貼撥款支銷之最後限期為二零零六年一月六日，各院系屬會務請於該日前依據報銷程序支銷撥款，逾期作放棄論。

Reimbursement of Student Activity Expenses

All clubs and societies affiliated to United College Student Union are required to apply, on or before 6 January 2006, for reimbursement of student activity expenses incurred in the second half of 2005. Late applications will not be accepted.

聯合劇社於四院劇賽獲獎

本年度的四院劇賽已於十一月十六及十七日假邵逸夫堂舉行，文浩輝同學憑《愛之無罪》一劇獲得優異演員獎。書院謹向聯合劇社及台前幕後工作人員致意。

Drama Club Wins Award in the Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition

The Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition of this year had been held on 16 and 17 November 2005 at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Mr Man Ho Fai of United College was awarded the “Outstanding Artist” for his performance entitled “Innocent Love”. Our heartily congratulations to Mr Man and all members of the production team.

語文改善計劃及促進雙語教學計劃二零零六年春季課程 

書院「語文改善計劃」及「促進雙語教學計劃」春季課程將於二零零六年一月九日至廿一日接受同學報名。同學除可報讀普通話及英語課程外，亦可報名參加將於二零零六年暑期舉行的多個不同的「外地語文及文化交流活動」及「語文學習營」。章程及報名表格可到書院輔導處索取。

The Language Improvement Project & The Project for Promoting Bilingual Skills —Spring Programmes 2006

Applications for the Spring courses of the College's 2006 Language Improvement Project (LIP) and the Project for Promoting Bilingual Skills will open from 9 to 21 January 2006. Apart from the local Putonghua and English courses, non-local Language and Culture Programmes and language immersion camps will also be organized in summer 2006. Interested students may collect the programme booklets and application forms from the Dean of Students' Office.

學生宿舍消息

本院學生宿舍將於二零零五年十二月三十日(星期五)中午十二時至二零零六年一月三日(星期二)上午九時暫停開放，以便進行半年一度的清潔工作。為方便工作，請各宿生於十二月三十日(星期五)中午十二時前離開宿舍，並避免放置物品於地上。非本地生如需於關閉期間繼續留宿，請於十二月十七日(星期六)前以書面通知舍監。只獲配上學期宿位的同學，請於本年十二月三十日(星期五)中午十二時前到宿舍接待處辦理退宿手續。

Hostel News

All UC student hostels will be closed from 12:00noon on Friday, 30 December 2005 to 9:00am on Tuesday, 3 January 2006 for the scheduled half-yearly cleaning.  Residents are requested to leave the hostels during this period and not to put their personal belongings on the floor. Non-local students who wish to stay on during the said period must apply to their respective wardens in writing before Saturday, 17 December 2005. Students eligible for first term residence only should check-out before12:00noon on Friday, 30 December 2005.
