本院校董暨校友會副會長何萬森先生、書院資深導師陳方正教授及前書院校董霍震寰先生獲頒授香港中文大學第五屆榮譽院士，頒授典禮將於五月十五日(星期一)下午五時正於利黃瑤璧樓利希慎音樂廳舉行，由大學校董會主席鄭維健博士主禮。本院同仁謹致賀忱！

College Members were conferred CUHK Honorary Fellowships Mr Ho Man Sum, Trustee and Vice-president of Alumni Association of United College; Professor Chen Fong Ching, Senior College Tutor, and Mr Fok Chun Wan Ian, former trustee of the College, were conferred CUHK's Honorary Fellowships in recognition of their significant contributions to the University and College as well as their other outstanding achievements. The Conferment Ceremony will be held on 15 May 2006 (Monday) at 5:00pm at the Esther Lee Building. Dr Edgar W K Cheng, Chairman of the Council of the University will officiate at the ceremony. Our heartfelt congratulations to Mr Ho, Professor Chen and Mr Fok!

聯合書院校董會增添新成員 聯合書院校董會宣佈通過推選王維基先生為校董會新成員，任期由二零零六年五月一日至二零零八年七月三十一日止。 王維基先生現為城市電訊（香港）有限公司及旗下附屬公司香港寬頻網絡有限公司之主席。王氏具備豐富科技及電腦知識，擁有超過十六年資訊科技經驗。王氏於一九八五年畢業於香港中文大學電子學系。「城市電訊（香港）有限公司」在香港開放國際電訊市場的里程上，擔當重要角色。旗下的「香港寬頻網絡有限公司」為本港的主要固網商之一。 王氏亦榮獲多個獎項，以表揚其於香港電訊界的輝煌成績。

New Member of the United College Board of Trustees The United College Board of Trustees has recently elected Mr Wong Wai-kay, Ricky to its membership. The tenure of the new Trustee is from 1 May 2006 to 31 July 2008. Mr Wong is the Chairman of City Telecom (HK) Limited (CTI) and its wholly own-subsidiary, Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited. Mr Wong graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics. Under his leadership, CTI has played a major role in the liberalization of the telecommunications market in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited is one of the major fixed network operators in Hong Kong. Mr Wong received several awards on his achievement in the IT industry.

Appointment of Acting Dean of Students Professor Alaster Lau, Dean of Students, will be on leave from 29 May 2006 to 7 June 2006. Professor Chau Kwai Cheong, Department of Geography and Resource Management, will be the Acting Dean of Students during this period.

馮國培院長盃 書院生活委員會在二零零六年四月三日舉辦「馮國培院長盃」。是項師生盃賽包括羽毛球賽、乒乓球賽及籃球賽。近百位教職員、校友及同學參加比賽及同場打氣，結果由教職員聯同校友隊奪得全場總冠軍，捧走今年的馮國培院長盃。賽後師生共進自助晚餐，場面熱鬧溫馨。

Fung Kwok Pui Cup The United College Fung Kwok Cup had been organized on 3 April 2006 by the College Life Committee. Around 100 UC alumni, staff and students competed in a series of badminton, table tennis and basket ball competitions and cheered up for the players. The overall Champion of the day went to Joint Team of Staff and Alumni. The Champion Cup was sponsored and presented by Professor K P Fung, College Head. After the competitions, all participants enjoyed a buffet dinner with a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
