本院社會工作學系一年級方麗鴻同學榮獲二零零五至二零零六年度傑出學生服務獎。傑出學生服務獎由香港學生事務協會及香港傑出專上學生服務協會合辦，自一九九一至一九九二年度起每年舉辦，旨於鼓勵學生積極服務社會，發揮領袖才能。

Student wins the Hong Kong Outstanding Tertiary Student Service Award
Ms Fong Lai Hung, a Year 1 Social Work
student of United College, has won this year's Hong Kong Outstanding
Tertiary Student Award. The Outstanding Service Awards have been established
since 1991-92 with the aim to encourage student to develop leadership skill
and serve the community. The awards are administered by the Hong Kong
Student Service Association and the Hong Kong Outstanding Tertiary Students'
Services Association.

書院粵語辯論隊奪零六年中大五角賽季軍
書院粵語辯論隊於本年二月至四月期間參加中大五角辯論比賽，於四月十二日舉行的季軍賽中以二比一撃敗逸夫辯論隊，取得此項賽事的季軍名銜。是次比賽辯題為「香港大學實施分科收費行多於弊」，正方隊伍為逸夫書院，本院則擔任反方。書院謹向各隊員及隊監黃鉅鴻先生致以熱烈祝賀!

College Cantonese Debate Team Won 2nd
Runners-up Title in the CU Pentagonal Competition in 2006
The College's Cantonese Debate Team
participated in the University's Pentagonal Debate Competition in 2006 from
February to April, and they won the match against Shaw College on 12 April
2006 by two to one and grasped the 2nd
Runners-up title. Heartily congratulations to all team members and Warden,
Mr Jeremiah Wong!

書院粵語辯論隊隊員李灝棋同學(心理一)、江天俊同學(工管一)及施寶玲同學(環商一)，連同逸夫書院陳綺靜同學(中醫一)合組隊伍，以「醫療服務關注組」名義參加二零零五至零六年度的「香港公共政策創意獎勵計劃」，結果小組憑「醫療北上」計劃奪得青年組的季軍。書院謹向得獎同學致以衷心祝賀!

Cantonese Debate Team Members won Public Policy Innovation Award
Three College Cantonese Debate Team members
Mr Lee Ho Kei (PSY 1), Mr Kong Tin Chun (BBA 1) and Ms Si Bao Ling (GBS 1),
with Ms Chan Yee Ching, of Shaw College formed a group named "Medical
Service Concern Group" and participated in the Hong Kong Public Policy
Innovation Award in 2005-06. They won the 2nd
runners-up title by the project of "Medical Service up North" in the Youth
Sector. Our heartily congratulations to the award winning students!

港、中、美三地萌芽學者學術交流計劃
本院萌芽學者學術交流團一行九人將由學術顧問生物系朱利民教授和地理與資源管理學系林暉教授帶領下，於二零零六年五月二十七日至六月五日期間與浙江大學一同出訪美國密蘇里大學作三地交流。期間聯合書院萌芽學者將以「Sustainable
Development and Pollution Control in the Pearl River Delta
Region」為題進行專題研究，並在美國密蘇里大學公開發表有關研究結果。

Hong Kong-PRC-USA Budding Scholars Exchange Programme
Seven budding scholars of the College, will
accompany by the Academic advisers, Professor Chu Lee Man (Department of
Biology) and Professor Lin Hui (Department of Geography Resource &
Management) to visit the University of Missouri-St. Louis from 27 May to 5
June 2006. The budding scholars delegation of Zhejiang University, PRC will
also visit the University of Missouri during the same period as the first
part of the Tripartite Budding Scholars Exchange Programme. During their
stay at the University of Missouri, the budding scholars of United College
will conduct an open seminar on the topic of "Sustainable Development and
Pollution Control in the Pearl River Delta Region".

學生宿舍二零零五/二零零六年度住宿期終結
二零零五至二零零六年度學生宿舍宿期將於二零零六年五月三十一日（星期三）中午十二時終結，各宿生須於當日中午十二時前遷出宿舍（已與舍監作出特別安排者除外）。宿生須將鑰匙交回宿舍詢問處並填妥「退還宿舍按金表格」連同過戶銀行存摺印有戶口號碼之內頁副本，一併於退還鑰匙時交予宿舍負責人，或於六月十五日前交至書院輔導處。逾期交回表格者，按金將不予發還。

End of 2005/2006 Hostel Residence
The regular term hostel residence for
2005/2006 will end at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, 31 May 2006. All residents
should check out by then unless prior arrangements have been made with the
wardens. Residents should return their keys to the hostel enquiry
counters. For refund of hostel deposits, residents should fill out the
appropriate application forms obtainable from the enquiry counters of their
respective hostels and attach a copy of the relevant page of their bank
account passbooks for autopay purposes. These documents should be returned
to their respective hostels together with the room keys. Alternatively, the
said documents can be handed in to the Dean of Students' Office before 15
June 2006. Late applications will not be entertained.

二零零三級社消息
2006年書院畢業同學惜別會
聯合書院本年度的畢業同學惜別會已於四月七日假書院聚會期間舉行，逾一百五十名聯合同學出席。惜別會是由二零零三年級社《聚聯社》主辦，以短片形式輯錄了書院大型活動的盛況。隨後由出席的同學各自訴説心底話，體現同學對書院歸屬感，並總結了「聯合最強」的口號。大學校友評議會常務委員會委員兼聯絡小組召集人李金鐘先生、大學校友評議會秘書兼校友事務處處長李介明先生及書院校友會副會長何萬森先生亦有出席是次惜別會，向同學們簡介中大校友評議會及書院校友會。
級社是聯合書院自二零零四年起新成立的學生組織，級社成員以入學年度區分，目的是加強同屆書院同學的聯繫。「聚聯社」為第三屆級社，成員為二零零三年入學的聯合學生。
2006年畢業晚宴
此外，「聚聯社」並已定於本年六月九日晩上假旺角朗豪酒店四十二樓星月亭舉行畢業晚宴，讓應屆畢業同學能夠在離開校園之前再次聚首一堂。晚宴餐費分別為三百三十元(嘉賓及校友)及二百元(學生)。有興趣參加者可聯絡書院輔導處學生事務助理主任周鍾寶華女士(2609

2006 Graduation
Class Farewell Party
A party organized by the 2003 Class Society
"Unite" to farewell the graduates was held on 7 April. At capturing the
party, video clips of memorable moments were shared. Participants also
shared fond memories of their College life and study experiences. The
celebration was concluded with the "UC the strongest" cheers as pledge to
demonstrate their sense of belongings to the College. Mr Lee Kam Chung,
member of the Convocation Standing Committee and Convenor of the Liaison
Sub-committee, Mr Li Kai Ming, Secretary of the Convocation and Director of
the Alumni Affairs Office and Mr Ho Man Sum, Vice-president of the College
Alumni Association also attended the Farewell Party to introduce the CUHK
Convocation and the United College Alumni Association to the students.
"Class Society" was a student organization
formed in 2004 to link up College students of the same year. Members of the
Society are grouped by their entrance year. The name of the third College
Class Society is "Unite" for students joining the College in 2003.
2006 Graduation
Dinner
The 2003 Class Society is going to organize
a Graduation Dinner for the 2006 graduates on 9 June 2006 at Star Room, 42/F
Langham Place Hotel, Mongkok. The Dinner fee is $330 (Guest /Alumni) and
$200 (Students). For further information or ticket reservations, please

Student Campus Training And Service Award Scheme For 2006/2007
Applications are now invited for the
first-round allocation of the UC Student Campus Training and Service Award
Scheme for 2006/2007. The Scheme aims to provide financial award to UC
students and to help them gain some working experiences. Application
materials will be dispatched to College members on 15 May 2006. For further
information please contact Ms Sam Pang (Tel : 2609 7562) or Mrs Eastre Chan
(Tel : 2609 8657) of the Dean of Students' Office. Completed application
forms should be submitted by 31 May 2006. Applicants will be notified of
the outcome of their applications by the end of June 2006.
