College Members awarded HKSAR Honours
In the Honour list announced on 1 July 2007, members of the College were awarded honours by the HKSAR Government:
- Dr Lee Shau Kee, College Trustee, and Dr the Honourable Li Kwok Po David, UC Donor, were awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medals
- Mr Ho Sai Chu, UC Donor, was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Medal
- Mr Tang Hau Sing (77/GPA), UC alumnus, was awarded the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service
- Dr Choi Koon Shum, College Trustee, and UC alumni, Rev Lau Wai Ling (74/SWK), and Mr Ko Tam Kan (65/CHI), were awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Stars
- Mr Lee Yuet Man (88/SWK), UC alumnus, was awarded the Medal of Honour
- Mr Lee See Yuen (67/ENG), UC alumnus, was awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service
- Professor Kwan Hoi Shan, College staff, and 3 UC alumni, Professor Cheng Kwok Hon Leonard (75/ECO), Professor Cheung Yan Leung Stephen (82/MAT) and Mr Leung Cheuk Fai Jimmy (76/GEO) were appointed as the Justices of the Peace.

聯合書院校董會增添新成員
聯合書院校董會宣佈通過接納吳朱蓮芬女士及王緒亮先生加入該校校董會，任期由二零零七年七月一日至二零零九年七月三十一日止。
吳朱蓮芬女士是聯合書院已故校董吳多泰博士夫人。朱女士為香港工商專業協進會創會者，並為該會永遠榮譽會長。二零零六年，朱女士獲香港特別行區政府頒授銅紫荊星章。朱女士積極參與多項社會公職，多年來在推動香港經濟、教育、創新科技發展和社區服務方面，均有卓越的表現。職務包括：
- 中國人民政治協商會議全國委員會委員
- 香港特別行政區選舉委員會委員
- 東匯證券有限公司董事長（香港交易所參與者）
- 東匯置業有限公司董事長
- 美國樂居城發展有限公司董事長
王緒亮先生是聯合書院已故校董王劍偉之公子。王先生為三高洋行有限公司董事。王先生多年來熱心參與社會事務，職務包括：
- 上海巿政協
- 上海總會理事長
- 寧波旅港同鄉會理事
- 東華三院1986/1987年度總理
New Members of the United College Board of Trustees
The United College Board of Trustees has recently elected Ms Ng Chu Lien Fan and Mr Wong Sui Lieng Ronald to its membership. The tenure of the two new Trustees is from 1 July 2007 to 31 July 2009.
Ms Ng Chu Lien Fan is the wife of the late Dr Ng Tor Tai, Member of the United College Board of Trustees from 1966 to 2005. Ms Chu is the founder of the Hong Kong Commerce, Industry and Professionals Association. She was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2006. She has been very active in participating community services, particularly to the promotion of economics, education, technology and social services. Ms Chu holds a prolific record of community services and positions, including:
- Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's
- Political Consultative Conference PRC
- Managing Director of Tung Wui Securities Co. Ltd. (H.K.)
- Managing Director of Tung Wui Realty Co. Ltd. (H.K.)
- Managing Director of Locke Property Development, Inc (U.S.A.)
Mr Wong Sui Lieng Ronald is the son of the late Mr C.W. Wong, Member of the United College Board of Trustees from 1979 to 2000. Mr Wong is currently Director of the Tricomm Limited.
Mr Wong is very active and committed in serving the community of Hong Kong. He has been a member of Shanghai Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of Shanghai Fraternity Association Hong Kong Limited, Director of Ning Po Residents Association (HK) Limited and Director of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (1986-1987).
署理院長任命
院長馮國培教授將於二零零七年七月十七日至三十一日休假，由中國語言及文學系張雙慶教授出任署理院長。
Appointment of Acting Head
Professor Fung Kwok Pui, College Head will be on leave from 17–31 July 2007. Professor Chang Song Hing, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, will be the Acting Head during the above period.
署理書院輔導長任命
書院 輔導長劉行榕教授將於二零零七年七月三日至二十一日休假，七月三至十四日由地理與資源管理學系鄒桂昌教授出任署理輔導長，而七月十六日至二十一日則由電子工程學系李丹教授出任署理輔導長。
Appointment of Acting Dean
Professor Alaster Lau, Dean of Students will be on leave from 3–21 July 2007. Professor Chau Kwai Cheong, Department of Geography and Resource Management, will be the Acting Dean of Students during 3–14 July while Professor Lee Tan, Department of Electronic Engineering, will be the Acting Dean of Students during 16–21 July.

Professor Stephen H S Wong from Department of Sports Science and Physical Education was appointed the College Dean of Students for a term of two years from 1 August 2007 to 31 July 2009. 書院金禧院慶閉幕答謝會
「書院金禧院慶閉幕答謝會」已於七月十六日下午四時正假香港中文大學聯合書院鄭棟材樓地庫思源文娛中心舉行完畢。答謝會的主禮人為書院校董會主席暨書院金禧院慶活動指導委員會主席岑才生先生､書院基金會主席暨校友會會長張煊昌博士、書院學生會會長周凱鋒同學及書院院長馮國培教授。
書院透過答謝會向各曾協助籌辦書院五十周年金禧院慶活動的校董、教職員、校友、同學及校內、校外不同單位、團體及各界友好的支持表示謝意並致送感謝狀。
Ceremony Marking the Completion of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of United College
The Ceremony marking the completion of the College 50th Anniversary celebration was successfully held on Monday, 16 July 2007 at 4:00 pm at the College Si Yuan Amenities Centre, T C Cheng Building. The officiating guest were Mr Shum Choi Sang, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees and the College 50th Anniversary Activities Steering Committee, Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Chairman of the College Endowment Fund Committee and President of the College Alumni Association, Mr Calvin Chau H F, President of the College Student Union and Professor Fung Kwok Pui, Head of United College.
The Ceremony paid tributes to the College trustees, donors, staff, alumni, students and friends for all their support to the College 50th Anniversary celebrations throughout this year. Certificates of Appreciation were also presented during the Ceremony.
出版金禧紀念文集《聯合文采》
為慶祝書院金禧院慶五十周年，書院出版委員會特別刊印金禧紀念文集《聯合文采》，此書結集了五十篇聯合人的詩文，分為五大部分，每部分各十篇，訂名如下：

《聯合文采》於七月十六日舉行的「書院金禧院慶閉幕答謝會」進行首發儀式，並將於本年度七月十八至二十四日於香港灣仔會議展覽中心舉行的香港書展及各大書店作公開發售。此書由聯合書院與香港教育圖書公司合作編印發行，主編為本院出版委員會主席黃坤堯教授。

Launching of Golden Jubilee Anniversary Volume
To celebrate the College's 50th Anniversary, the College Publication Committee has organized a Golden Jubilee Anniversary Volume. This publication is a collection of 50 writings from United College staff, students and alumni. The volume consists of 5 sessions:
10 writings
from leaders and famous professors of United College
10 writings selected from all volumes of United Bulletin
10 writings from United College staff
10 writings from United College alumni
10 writings from United College students
This publication will be firstly launched at the Ceremony Marking the Completion of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of United College which will be held on 16 July 2007 at 4:00pm at Si Yuan Amenities Centre. Furthermore, the publication will be sold at bookstores and Hong Kong Book Fair from 18 to 24 July 2007 at Hong Kong Convention Centre, Wanchai. This volume, with Professor Wong Kuan Io, Chairman of College Publication Committee as the Chief Editor, is published and distributed by Hong Kong Educational Publishing Company.

Calling for Articles for the 63rd United Bulletin
The United Bulletin is an annual publication of the College. Apart from being an official chronicle of College personalia, student and staff activities and major College events, it also includes outstanding literary and academic work of staff and students of the College. The College Publication Committee is now inviting articles for the 63rd issue of the United Bulletin (2006-2007) from members of the College. Articles should be about 2000 - 2500 words in length and can be either in English or Chinese. There is no restriction on the format and style of the article.
