書院成員榮獲美國公共衞生協會週年年會之2007 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award 書院成員公共衞生學院和社區及家庭醫學系陳英凝教授榮獲美國公共衞生協會週年年會之2007 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award。得奬論文為「農村老人們在2005年喀什米爾地震後的醫療需要」。此奬項是為國際人口老化和公共衞生的研究主題而設，旨在表揚和促進國際的研究和政策的發展 |

UC Member Won the 2007 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award at 2007 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting UC Member, Professor Emily Ying Yang Chan, School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine, won the 2007 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award at 2007 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting, with her award-winning paper 'Health needs of older people in rural area post 2005 Kashmir earthquake'. The Nobuo Maeda International Research award is for research on topics pertaining to international aging and public health. The award is intended to recognize and further the career of leaders in international research and policy development. |

Advancements The following colleagues of the College have been advanced: ＊ Prof Tang Wai Kwong from Department of Psychiatry has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from 1 August 2007. ＊ Prof Zhang Benzi from Department of English has been promoted as Professor 2 with effective from 1 August 2007. The following alumni of the College in CUHK has been advanced: ＊ Prof Chan Wood Yee from Department of Anatomy has been promoted as Professor 1 with effective from 1 August 2007. ＊ Ms Leung Kit Chi, Ella from English Language Teaching Unit has been promoted as Senior Instructor with effective from 16 August 2007. 書院教職員學業優異獎 適逢書院五十一周年的紀念，書院希望各位同仁能慷慨解囊成立「聯合書院教職員學業優異獎」以鼓勵聯合書院同學努力求學。同時，書院院務委員和教職員亦已捐獻了接近港幣四萬元，由於只要籌集港幣五萬元後，該項獎項便可永久頒發，現懇請所有聯合教職員踴躍捐贈，使書院在慶祝院慶之時，倍添意義。如對這次募捐活動或書院之未來發展有任何建議，歡迎隨時聯絡書院院務主任李雷寶玲女士(電話﹕2609 7577)。捐款表格可於http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/UnitedCollegeStaffPrize.pdf下載，填妥後請交回書院院務室。
UC Staff Prize While celebrating the 51st Anniversary of United College, the College urges the generous support from all staff members to join the fund-raising activity for setting up a “United College Staff Prize” in order to encourage UC students in the pursuit of academic excellence. Members of Assembly of Fellows and College Staff have also donated nearly HK$40,000. If the fund raised reaches HK$50,000, the prize will be permanently granted to students each year.
