書院「駐院藝術家」– 音樂劇舞之夜

為了提高校園的文化藝術氣氛和舞蹈欣賞能力，聯合書院於本學年邀請了城市當代舞蹈團擔任「駐院藝術家」，並會舉辦一連串精采的舞蹈訓練和欣賞活動。作為活動第一砲的「音樂劇舞之夜」已於二零零七年十月九日於陳震夏宿舍九樓活動室順利舉行。是次活動由三位來自城市當代舞蹈團的導師任舞蹈指導及音樂劇舞表演，機會難能可貴。

參加的同學跟隨導師學習簡單的舞步和歌詞，最後大家都能夠跟著音樂一邊跳舞、一邊唱歌。三位導師更表演了幾段精采的音樂劇，為是次活動畫上完美的句號。

UC Artist-in-Residence – Night of Musical Dance

To cultivate the art and cultural interests of staff and students, the College has invited City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) to be the "United College Artists-in-Residence" for 2007-2008. The College will organize a series of dance activities and training. The first activity "Night of Musical Dance" was held on 9 October 2007 at Activity Room, 9/F, Chan Chun Ha Hostel, United College. Three professional dancers from CCDC acted as instructors and demonstrated the technique of musical dance.

All participants learned to dance with singing. At the end, all participants could follow the music to dance and sing. All participants had a wonderful time!

童軍領袖訓練計劃簡介會 

書院與香港童軍總會合作籌劃的領袖訓練計劃簡介會已於二零零七年十月二十六日假香港童軍中心舉行，共有二十位教職員及學生有意參與計劃。除學員外，書院輔導長王香生教授及院務主任李雷寶玲女士亦有出席該簡介會。學員將於本年度修讀一系列基礎課程，並接受旅團生活訓練及進行服務學習。倘有教職員或同學仍對計劃有興趣，請致電2609 7598與書院學生輔導處林偉源先生聯絡。

Scout Leader Training Programme Briefing Session

The "Scout Leader Training Programme" briefing session was held on 26 October 2007 at the Hong Kong Scout Centre.  20 staff and students showed interest in joining the Programme. Other than the participants, Professor Stephen Wong, Dean of Students, and Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary, also attended the briefing. Participants will have the opportunity in receiving fundamental trainings, experiencing the Scout group life and conducting service learning at the Scout branches at their own choice in the coming year. Should staff or students have interest in this programme, please contact Mr George Lam of the Dean of Students' Office at 2609 7598.

1) Non-local English & Culture Programme (University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK)

United College Summer English & Culture Programme is now open for application. The details are as follows:

2) "Preparatory course for the National Putonghua Proficiency Test"

本院男子泳隊勇奪中大游泳精英賽冠軍

二零零七至二零零八年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃 

本年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃已於二零零七年九月展開，這項計劃是由聯合書院與書院校友會合辦，旨在提供機會讓校友學長與在校同學互相交流和分享人生經驗。為使各參加者清楚了解此計劃的詳情，學長計劃統籌委員會於二零零七年八月三十日及九月六日，分別舉行學長及學員簡佈會，而迎新晚會則於二零零七年九月二十七日假富豪九龍酒店舉行。當日出席的嘉賓包括聯合書院校董會主席暨學長計劃贊助人岑才生先生、聯合書院校友會會長張煊昌博士、聯合書院院長馮國培教授與及百多位校友和同學，場面十分熱鬧。

UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme 2007/2008

The UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme 2007/2008, jointly organized by the United College and the UC Alumni Association, was launched in September 2007. This Programme aims to create close supportive mentoring relationships between alumni of United College and its undergraduates over a period of one year. In order to enable all participants to have a better understanding of the objectives and activities of the Programme, the Programme Coordinating Committee organized two briefing sessions for the mentors and mentees in August and September. The inauguration dinner was held on 27 September 2007 at the Regal Kowloon Hotel. Mr Shum Choi Sang, Chairman of the United College Board of Trustees and donor of the Programme, Dr Thomas H C Cheung, President of the United College Alumni Association, Professor Fung Kwok Pui, Head of United College, and over 160 mentors and mentees attended the ceremony.

書院粵語辯論隊正式成立

書院本年度的粵語辯論員招募工作經已完成，十一位同學脫穎而出，通過嚴格的面試，成功加入辯論隊，書院謹致熱烈祝賀。辯論隊成員如下：

學生會籌款成立書院服務獎

Student Union Raises Fund for Setting up a College Service Award

To better serve the community and the College, the Student Union encourages students to make contributions in various aspects.  The Student Union has launched a funding raising campaign for setting up a College Service Award.  The Student Union Executive Committee members cordially invite students, alumni and all College members to donate money in making this dream come true.  The award will be given to College students with active participation in College and activities, as well as eminent service to the College and fellow students.  Donation forms are available at the Student Union Office at G06, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Centre or downloaded at the College webpage at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/donations.html.  For enquiries, please contact Mr. Calvin Chau, Student Union President at 9094 9373.
