二零零七/二零零八年度書院獎學金
以下獎項已開始接受申請：
馮秉芬獎
獎額共三名，每名港幣五萬元。由馮秉芬爵士家族每年捐資成立。該獎學金旨在推廣「德智體群美」五育的全人發展。獲獎的本院畢業班同學可選擇繼續進修，參與國際學術交流及研討活動或發展創意工業。
截止申請日期為二零零八年二月一日。
戴麟趾爵士獎學金
獎額共五名，每名港幣一萬元。該獎學金旨在獎勵於在學期間積極參與課外活動，並在領導才能方面有傑出表現的本院畢業班同學。

明德新民傑出貢獻獎
獎額一名，港幣一萬元，由聯合書院明德新民校友基金資助。旨在獎勵於在學期間對大學及書院作出傑出服務及貢獻的畢業班同學。

王德昭紀念獎學金
王德昭紀念獎學金乃為紀念本院已故歷史系教授暨中國文化研究所前高級研究員王德昭先生而設。每年設奬額一名，金額為港幣三千元正，頒予學術論文優異之畢業班學生。其論文必須與中國近世史或現代中國歷史有關。
截止申請日期為二零零八年二月一日。
王德昭紀念學業獎
本院為紀念前歷史系教授王德昭先生在歷史學之貢獻，特設立上述獎項，頒予撰寫學術論文成績優異之聯合書院本科生，惟其論文必須與中國近世史或現代中國歷史有關。上述獎項共設獎額兩名，每名獎金港幣一千元正。
截止申請日期為二零零八年二月一日。
聯合書院社會工作系校友(1986)社會關懷獎(新開設)
獎額一名，港幣五千元，由一群聯合書院1986年社工系畢業生捐贈。旨在鼓勵本院社工系同學發揚社會工作的專業精神，積極參與社會服務。申請者須由中大社會工作學系提名。
截止申請日期為二零零八年一月二十一日。
黃李碧恥紀念獎學金
獎額一名，港幣一萬元，由「李碧恥紀念基金」資助。旨在表揚在社會服務方面有傑出表現的社會工作學系同學。

聯合書院謝婉雯醫生紀念獎學金
獎額共三名，每名港幣一萬元。旨在鼓勵本院醫科生積極參與社會服務，熱心公益，以發揚謝婉雯校友在沙士期間熱心助人的無私精神。

書院傑出服務獎
獎額共六名，每名港幣一千元至一萬元。旨在獎勵於過去一年間在服務書院或推動書院活動方面表現傑出之同學。申請者須由書院行政人員提名。

院長創作獎
院長為提倡書院內之創作風氣及鼓勵同學個人或集體創作之興趣，特捐出「院長創作獎」一名，獎金為港幣一千五百元正。凡屬本院同學於過去一年內完成之學術論文、研究報告、文學創作、音樂作品、美術設計或科學發明等均可參加競逐。
截止申請日期為二零零八年一月二十一日。

College Scholarships for 2007/2008
Applications are now invited for the following scholarships:
Fung Ping Fan Scholarships
Three annual scholarships, in the amount of HK$50,000 each, were established with the donation from the family of Sir Kenneth Fung Ping Fan in his memory, to support final year students of United College in pursuit of whole person development along the five core areas: ethical and moral, intellectual, physical, social and interpersonal and aesthetic. These scholarships may be used for postgraduate studies, for participation in international events or as seed money to start creative entrepreneurial projects.
Application will close on 1 February 2008.
Sir David Trench Scholarships
These scholarships, five in total of HK$10,000 each, are awarded to final year students with good leadership qualities and outstanding contribution to student activities and/ or community services.
Application will close on 1 February 2008.
Ming De Xin Min Distinguished Service Award
This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$10,000, was established through a donation from the ''Ming De Xin Min Alumni Fund''. The Scholarship will be awarded to final year students who have made significant contributions to the College or the University during their undergraduate studies.
Application will close on 1 February 2008.
Wang Teh-chao Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship, in amount of HK$3,000, has been set up in memory of the late Mr Wang Teh-chao, former Reader in history of United College and former senior Research Fellow of the University's Institute of Chinese Studies. Graduates and final year students of United College are invited to apply for the Wang Teh-chao Memorial Scholarship.
Application will close on 1 February 2008.
Wang Teh-chao Memorial Prizes
Two prizes, in amount of HK$1,000 each, are awarded to United College Students for outstanding essays on the history of later imperial China (900-1800) or history of Modern China.
Application will close on 1 February 2008.
United College Social Work Graduates (1986) - Caring for the Community Prize (NEW)
This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$5,000, was established through the donation from a group of United College Social Work (year 1986) graduates, to encourage more young students to recognize the values of social work profession in the betterment of society. The Scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has attained outstanding performance in community services and recommended by the Department of Social Work, CUHK.
Application will close on 21 January 2008.
Mrs Eva Wong Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$10,000, was established through a donation from the ''Eva Li Memorial Fund''. The Scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has attained outstanding performance in community services.
Application will close on 21 January 2008.
UC Dr Tse Yuen Man Memorial Scholarships
Three scholarships, HK$10,000 each, were established to encourage more young medical students to continue the vision of Dr. Tse Yuen Man, a graduate of United College and a great fighter against SARS, in utilizing her knowledge to cure suffering and save lives.
Application will close on 21 January 2008.
Distinguished College Service Awards
There will be six awards ranging from HK$1,000 to HK$10,000. The prizes will be awarded to students having demonstrated outstanding development in academic and extra-curricular activities as well as of significant contributions to College or campus life in the year 2007. Candidates for these awards are nominated by staff of the College.
Application will close on 21 January 2008.
Head of College Creativity Prize
The Head of College Creativity Prize has been established to promote student interest in creative projects. A cash prize of HK1,500 will be awarded to a student or a group of students who has demonstrated good creativity in an academic paper, research report, literary or musical composition, work of art or scientific invention completed within the last 12 months.
Application will close on 21 January 2008.

一年一度，由書院學生會籌辦的歌唱比賽決賽將於二零零八年一月二十九日(星期二)晚上七時三十分假中大邵逸夫堂舉行，本屆主題為「Power

UC Singing Contest 2008
Organized by the College Student Union, the Singing Contest
2008 will be held on Tuesday, 29 January 2008 at 7:30 pm at Sir Run Run Shaw
Hall. The theme of this year is ''Power VIVA'', the student organizers would
like all participants and attendants to enjoy the contests and the performances
arranged. Tickets of $69 each are available at the Cultural Square and the
College Student Canteen counters from 7 to 28 January 2008. All University
staff and students are welcome to support. For questions or ticketing matters,

聯合書院「師生交流」津貼
為了加強聯合書院全職教員及行政人員與書院學生在課餘時間的溝通和交流，書院特別於二零零六至二零零七年度成立了聯合師生交流津貼。書院常務委員會並剛通過每名成員的基本津貼額由港幣五百元增加至一千元，而每次聚餐之津貼金額亦由港幣五十元增至一百元為限。有關津貼可用作資助餐費、學術及非形式教學等師生交流活動的開支。詳情可瀏覽書院網頁

United College "Social Fund"
With an
objective of strengthening contact and interaction between teachers and students
outside the classroom, United College has set up a Social Fund in 2006/2007. The
College Cabinet had recently approved to increase the annual budget for each
College staff from HK$500 to HK$1,000. The maximum amount for staff and student
per gathering is also adjusted to HK$100 per head. The allowance will cover
meals, refreshment, activities, both on or off campus for formal and non-formal
academic and cultural activities in nature. For further information, please

書院膳堂管理委員會通告
書院膳堂現承辦商之經營合約將於本年七月底屆滿，書院膳堂管理委員會現正就新膳堂合約進行公開招標。為了搜集同學們對膳堂服務的意見，除原有委員會的學生代表外，委員會現特別成立一六至十人的小組諮詢，並公開招募有興趣的同學加入小組，反映對膳堂服務之意見。
有興趣的同學請致電2609 8655 或 2609 7562與膳堂管理委員會秘書聯絡。膳堂管理委員會於遴選膳堂承辦商時，亦會參考小組的意見。
Notice from the Canteen Management Committee
The catering contract between the College and the present caterer, Lucky Channel Ltd, will expire on 31 July 2008. Tendering for the new contract is in progress. In this regard, the Canteen Management Committee will set up a special Focus Group with 6 -10 student representatives. They will work together with the existing student representatives of the Management Committee to give comments and suggestions on the canteen service.
College students who are interested in joining as members of the Focus Group may contact the Secretary of the Committee at 2609 8655 or 2609 7562. Comments and suggestions collected from the Focus Group will also be used as reference in selecting the new caterer.
山東大學萌芽學者到訪書院
聯合書院與山東大學現正合辦第十五屆萌芽學者學術交流計劃，山東大學萌芽學者學術交流團一行十人將由該校法學院胡常龍教授率領下於二零零八年二月十二日至二十二日到訪書院，參加由本院基金會贊助之萌芽學者學術交流計劃。
山東大學萌芽學者定於二月十四日於書院舉行專題研討會，報告專題為「關於社區教化與社區矯正等問題」。歡迎師生出席。

Budding Scholars from Shandong University
Nine Students from Shandong University will visit United College from 12-22 February 2008 to participate in the College's 15th Budding Scholars Exchange Programme.

Confronting Community Correction'' at a public seminar on 14 February 2008 at
the College. Students and staff are welcome to attend.

書院創意學生活動獎勵計劃接受申請
書院為鼓勵同學籌辦具創意的活動，特設「創意學生活動獎」供本院同學或學生團體申請。計劃目的在於鼓勵學生或學生團體籌辦優質活動；提高學生及學生組織的積極性；及推動學生積極投入校園生活。
是項計劃現正公開接受申請。歡迎聯合書院學生會認可的學生團體或本院同學以個人或小組名義申請。申請表格及計劃書可於二零零八年三月十四日(星期五)或以前向書院學生輔導處遞交。
每年計劃總獎額達港幣六萬元，得獎人或單位將獲得資助，作為籌辦該項活動的經費。開支實報實銷，得獎個人或團體須向書院呈交活動及財政報告。本計劃由聯合書院鄭棟材博士紀念基金資助，申請表格可於書院輔導處索取或於書院網頁下載，查詢請電2609 7598 或2609 7570 與書院學生輔導處林偉源先生或何惠芬女士聯絡。
Creative Student Activity Award Programme Now Opens for Application
To encourage students to organize new or creative activities, the College has established the Creative Student Activity Award Programme since 2002. The aims of the programmes are: 1) encouraging students or student bodies to organize quality activities; 2) encouraging students / student bodies to be more active in organizing activities; and 3) promoting
students' participation in College life.
The Programme for 2008 is now open for application. Students of United College or student organizations registered with the United College Student Union are eligible to apply. Interested parties should submit the applications and activity proposals to the Dean of Students' Office on or before Friday, 14 March 2008.
The annual award money amounted to HK$60,000, and the winning students or organization(s) will be subsidized according to their programme proposals. Detailed activity and financial reports must be submitted to the College upon completion of the programme. This award programme is funded by the United College T C Cheng Memorial Fund.

書院「師生共膳計劃」
為了加強院內師生的聯繫，聯合書院於二零零六年起推出「聯合書院師生共膳計劃」。 計劃以學院作為單位，鼓勵不同學院的老師和同學，透過出席於聯合書院飯堂舉行的晚宴，加強彼此溝通，亦加深對書院的認識。此計劃是書院非形式教育的一部份。
本年度第三次的「師生共膳計劃」詳情如下:

Vice-Chancellor's Night Talk
The Vice-Chancellor's Night Talk jointly organized by the College Student Union and the six residential and non-residential halls will be held on Thursday, 31 January 2008 at the Common Room, 10/F, Chan Chun Ha Hostel from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. All College staff and students are welcome to meet Professor Lawrence J Lau and discuss matters related the University and Colleges' latest development.

新春期間，本院學生宿舍將於二零零八年二月六日(年三十)中午十二時起至二月十一日(年初五)中午十二時止暫停開放。非本地生如需於關閉期間繼續留宿，請於一月二十五日前以書面通知舍監。關閉期內，宿舍將暫停服務。
Student Hostel News
During the Lunar New Year holidays, the student hostels of the College will be closed from 12:00 noon on 6 February 2008 to 12:00 noon on 11 February 2008. Non-local students who wish to stay on during the said period must notify their respective wardens in writing before 25 January 2008. No hostel services will be provided during the said period.
