書院院務委員會消息

院務委員會於二零零八年二月十五日舉行的九十九次會議，通過以下各項書院院務委員會屬下各委員會職務任命：

News of the College Assembly of Fellows

The College Assembly of Fellows, at its 99th Meeting held on 15 February 2008, endorsed the following College Assembly Committee Appointments:

「藝術人生－利漢楨版畫與雕塑展」

由香港中文大學聯合書院及文物館合辦的「藝術人生－利漢楨版畫與雕塑展」，將於二零零八年四月三日下午四時三十分開幕。展覽由當日至四月二十九日於大學圖書館展覽廳舉行，歡迎蒞臨參觀。

利漢楨教授現為駐校藝術家，一直從事藝術創作、教學和致力推動藝術發展。是次展出版畫和雕塑作品選自利教授自六十年代以來的優秀佳作，涵蓋了不同時代，多種不同類型版種作品，內容豐富，精彩多元，為觀眾和創作者之間提供了視覺和心靈交匯的通道，實在不容錯過。

Exhibition of ''Art Through My Ages – Prints and Sculpture by Hon-ching Lee''

The Opening Ceremony of the exhibition ''Art Through My Ages – Prints and Sculpture by Hon-ching Lee'' will take place at 4:30 pm on 3 April 2008. The exhibition, co-organized by United College and Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, will be held from 3 to 29 April 2008 at University Library Exhibition Hall.

Professor Lee, Artist-in-Residence of United College, is unstintingly committed to artistic creation, teaching and the promotion of art in community. This exhibition presents some of his best sculpture and prints since the sixties. They will take the viewers to a visual and spiritual journey which should not be missed.

《藝術中與西》工作坊

聯合書院二零零七至零八年度駐校藝術家利漢楨教授將於二零零八年三月至四月訪問書院，期間將與中大藝術系兼任講師張惠儀博士合作，開辦《藝術中與西》工作坊。工作坊分中國藝術及西方藝術兩部分，先由張博士主持有關中國玉器、青銅器、瓷器及書畫等藝術作品的專題講座，再由利教授介紹西方名家的雕刻、繪畫及陶瓷藝術，參加者更可在利教授指導下，親身體驗浮雕版畫創作的興味。工作坊由三月五日起，逢星期三晚上七時至九時半，在聯合書院曾肇添樓地下103室進行。

工作坊內容如下：

三月五日             遙遠的神權世代：新石器時代玉器與商 周青銅器

三月十二日         泥土的淡抹濃妝：宋元明清瓷器藝術

三月十九日         ''怪''的藝術：揚州八怪的書畫

三月二十六日    J Arp 與 H Moore 等之雕刻藝術暨介 紹浮雕版畫

四月二日            P Soulages 與 F Kline 等之繪畫藝術 暨示範浮雕版畫工具之製作

四月九日            B Leach 及其弟子之陶瓷藝術暨浮雕版 畫之創作嘗試

"Art East and West" Workshop

Professor Lee Hon Ching, Artist-in-Residence of United College in 2007-08, will visit the College in March and April 2008.  During his visit, Professor Lee will join hands with Dr Cheung Wai Yee, Part-time Lecturer, Department of Fine Arts, CUHK, to offer a workshop entitled "Art East and West".  Divided into two main streams in Chinese and Western Art, these six workshops will be conducted in Cantonese, and the contents will touch on the similarities and differences between art of the East and the recent West.  Participants will also have hands-on chances to make tools and relief prints.  The workshops will begin from 5 March 2008 and held for six consecutive weeks on every Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at Room 103, Tsang Shiu Tim Building, United College.

The topics of the Workshop include:

5 March       The Supernatural World in the Ancient Time: Jades in the Neolithic Period and Bronze of Shang and Zhou Dynasties

12 March     The Gracefulness of Earth: Ceramics of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing

19 March     The Art of Eccentricity: The Painting and Calligraphy of the Yangzhou Artists

26 March     The Art of J Arp, H Moore and others /Introduction of relief printmaking

2 April          The Art of P Soulages, F Kline and others /Demonstration of tool making for relief prints

9 April          The Art of B Leach and his followers Relief printmaking

署理院長任命

院長馮國培教授將於二零零八年三月二十日至二十七日休假，由書院通識教育主任張雙慶教授出任署理院長。

Appointment of Acting Head

Professor Fung Kwok Pui, College Head will be on leave from 20-27 March 2008. Professor Chang Song Hing, Dean of General Education of the College, will be the Acting Head during the above period.

書院聚會：「駐院藝術家」城市當代舞蹈團表演 (二零零八年二月十八日)

城市當代舞蹈團為聯合書院2007-2008年度書院「駐院藝術家」，在書院內舉辦了兩個舞蹈工作坊和一次專題演講，並在二月二十八日書院聚會時間以一場舞蹈表演作為在書院推廣藝術欣賞的高潮，主題為《當代舞的新浪潮》。表演當晚，城市當代舞蹈團以五段精選作品選段，配以講解，為同學介紹現代舞蹈藝術。中場亦加插台下問答環節，以輕鬆形式把在場千多位同學帶入舞蹈的世界。

College Assembly: Dance Show of City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC), United College Artist-in-Residence (18 February 2008)

Being the "Artist-in-Residence" for United College in 2007-08, CCDC has held two dance workshops and one talk for United College, reaching the high tide in art promotion by a dance show held on 28 February 2008. The theme of the show was  "New Wave of Contemporary Dance". Five highlights of excerpts of CCDC were performed with introduction presented by CCDC's artist. A relaxed Q & A session was included in the middle of the performance to bring the one thousand plus audience, mainly students, into the world of dance.

書院聚會：「二零零八年奧運馬術比賽籌備工作簡介」及馬術參賽經驗分享(二零零八年二月二十二日)

 
嘉賓講者第二十九屆奧林匹克運動會馬術比賽馬(香港)有限公司行政總裁林煥光先生以豐富的資料、圖片及錄影片段介紹了過去奧運馬術比賽的情況，並簡報了香港在籌辦二零零八年比賽的各方面的最新進度。林先生特別強調這是香港的光榮，希望同學能積極參與此盛事。

在同一個聚會上，書院亦邀請了二零零八年殘疾人奧運會馬術比賽香港參賽代表葉少康校友分享他的馬術參賽經驗。葉校友為首位獲得二零零八年馬術比賽參賽資格的香港運動員。

College Assembly: Preparing for the Olympic Equestrian Event in 2008 and Sharing of Mr Nelson Yip (22 February 2008)

The guest speaker, Mr Lam Woon Kwong, Chief Executive officer, The Equestrian Events (HK) of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad Company Limited, introduced Olympic Equestrian Events to the audience with rich factual and audio-visual information and briefly reported the latest preparation in Hong Kong for the 2008 Events. Mr Lam emphasized that this would be an honour for Hong Kong and students' participation to this great Events were highly encouraged.

At the same College Assembly, United College alumnus, Mr Nelson Yip, Hong Kong Representative of 2008 Paralympic Equestrian Competition was invited to share his riding experience with the students. Mr Yip is the first one being qualified to represent Hong Kong in the 2008 Equestrian Games.

書院聚會：聯合書院「就業發展講座」(二零零八年二月二十九日)

聯合書院為協助同學在就業前作好準備，特別邀請了林定楓先生以「成功事業第一式：面試小秘笈」為題，於書院聚會時間與二百多位同學分享他的經驗，特別提醒同學應徵者常犯的錯誤，並提點同學在事前準備、面試當日的儀容、態度和反應方面應該注意的地方。林先生為聯合書院校友，主修社會學，任職社會福利署二十多年，現為元朗區助理福利專員。

College Assembly: United College – Career Development Talk (29 February 2008)

To help students prepared for job interviews, United College has invited Mr Lam Ding Fung to share his experience with over 200 students on the topic of "The Beginning of Your Successful Career-Skills for Job Interview".  Common mistakes in interviews were listed while students were reminded of the tips for the preparation in advance as well as important points to note on the interview day.  Mr Lam is an alumnus of United College majoring in Sociology. He has been serving at the Social Welfare Department for over 20 years and is now the Assistant District Social Welfare Officer (Yuen Long).
