伯利衡宿舍宿生會籌款音樂晚會

為響應書院學生會籌款設立「書院服務獎」，伯利衡宿舍將於三月二十七日(星期四)晚上八時正假聯合校園思源廣場舉行音樂晚會， 並協助籌募基金，以成立「書院服務獎」。活動由書院學生輔導處協辦，於音樂會場設捐款箱，希望出席人士慷慨解囊，促成設立獎項頒予在書院有傑出服務貢獻的同學。學生會「書院服務獎」的捐款表格可於網上索取，網址為http://www.cuhk.edu. hk/uc/forms/donations.html。 查詢請致電9586 0578或2609 7598與伯宿余邵倫同學或書院學生輔導處林偉源先生聯絡。

Fund Raising Music Concert of Bethlehem Hall

To assist the fund raising campaign of the College Student Union in establishing a College Service Award, the Bethlehem Hall will organize a music concert on Thursday, 27 March 2008 at 8:00 pm at the Si Yuan Amphitheatre on College campus.  The concert is co-organized by the College's Dean of Students' Office. 校長夜話

由書院學生會主辦、六舍堂協辦的「校長夜話」於一月三十一日(星期四)晚上於陳震夏宿舍十樓大堂舉行，校長劉遵義教授為嘉賓講者，而協理副校長許敬文教授、大學輔導長何培斌教授、大學秘書長梁少光先生及傳訊及公共關係處處長徐綺薇女士均撥冗出席，並由院長馮國培教授、書院輔導長王香生教授及院務主任李雷寶玲女士陪同。劉遵義教授關心到學生的起居之餘，更談及大學新近發展，他表示新書院的籌款工作告一段落，往後會積極為書院籌建宿舍。就聯合書院而言，希望能於二零一二年前落實籌建第五所學生宿舍的計劃。劉校長亦鼓勵同學，多參與大學及書院舉辦的交換及交流計劃，藉以開闊眼界，充實自我。

Vice-Chancellor's Night Talk

The Vice-Chancellor's Night Talk organized by the College Student Union and the six Hall Associations was held on Thursday, 31 January 2008 at the Lobby, 10/F, Chan Chun Ha Hostel.  Professor Lawrence J Lau, Vice-Chancellor, was invited as the honorable guest of the talk.  Other university administrators graced the occasion including Professor Michael Hui, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Professor Ho Puay Peng, University Dean of Students; Mr Jacob Leung, University Secretary; Ms Amy Tsui, Director of Communication and Public Relations.  Professor K P Fung, College Head; Professor Stephen Wong, Dean of Students; and Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary also accompanied the guests in attending the occasion.  During the talk, Professor Lau expressed his concerns in students' campus life and briefed the recent development of the University.  After raising fund for establishing five new Colleges, Professor Lau promised to help in the building of student hostels for Colleges.  It was expected that the construction of the fifth student hostel in United College would be confirmed before the year of 2012.  The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged students to join the exchange programmes offered by the University and the College.

宿舍消息

1) 二零零八至二零零九年度學生住宿申請

二零零八至二零零九年度聯合書院學生住宿申請表格將於二零零八年三月二十日起開始派發，同學可於辦公時間內往書院學生輔導處索取或於書院網頁下載 http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/forms.html。填妥之申請表須於二零零八年四月十五日或以前交回聯合書院學生輔導處，逾期或資料不足之申請概不受理。

2) 二零零八至二零零九年度校內住宿助學金申請

提交“住宿申請”同學可同時另填表申請“校內住宿助學金”

3) 學生暑期住宿申請

本年度書院學生宿舍暑期住宿將於二零零八年四月一日開始接受申請。有關詳情及申請辦法，請參閱學生輔導處佈告板或書院網頁。截止申請日期為二零零八年四月二十一日。

4) 招聘暑期工作人員

本院學生宿舍將於二零零八年六月至八月期間開放予外界及學生團體租用，現擬招聘學生助理兩名，協助接待及管理工作。申請表格可往輔導處索取或於書院網頁下載，截止申請日期為二零零八年三月二十八日。查詢請致電2609 7574與胡太或潘女士聯絡。

Hostels News

1) Applications for the 2008/2009 Regular Term Residence

Application forms for the 2008/2009 regular term residence in the College's student hostels are available at the Dean of Students' Office, United College from 20 March 2008.  They can also be downloaded from the College website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/forms.html.  Completed application forms should be submitted to the same office on or before 15 April 2008.  Late applications will not be considered.

2) Applications for United College Hostel Residence Grant 2008/2009

Student submitting an application for a hostel place can also fill in the application form for “Hostel Residence Grant” and submit it at the same time.

3) Applications for Summer Residence

Applications for this year's summer residence in UC student hostels will open on 1 April 2008.  For further details, please refer to the College notice-boards or approach the Dean of Students' Office.  Applications close on 21 April 2008.

4) Recruitment of Student Coordinators for Summer Residence
　

The College's student hostels will be open for rental to outside groups and student societies during the summer vacation of 2008.  Students interested in working as summer residence co-ordinators please apply to the Dean of Students' Office.  The closing date is 28 March 2008.  For enquiries, please contact Mrs  Wu or Ms  Poon at 2609 7574.

中大捐血運動

二零零八年度之「中大捐血運動」已定於三月十七日至二十六日舉行。香港紅十字會將於三月十九日（星期三）上午十一時三十分至下午五時三十分在湯若望宿舍大堂設立流動捐血站。敬希本院師生踴躍支持。

　

Blood Donation Campaign

The campus-wide Blood Donation Campaign will be held from 17 to 26 March 2008.  The Hong Kong Red Cross Mobile Unit will be stationed in the foyer of Adam Schall Residence from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 19 March to take blood donations.  Staff and students of the College are urged to support this campaign.

書院語文暑期英語及普通話學習營現正接受同學報名。詳情如下：

營地: 香港青年協會賽馬會西貢戶外訓練營

News from UC Language Improvement Project

1) UC Language Improvement Project — Summer English & Putonghua Camps

United College Summer English & Putonghua Camps are now open for application. The details are as follows:

English Immersion Camp

Date:     17-19 May 2008

Venue:   Breakthrough Youth Village

Putonghua Immersion Camp

Date:    12-14 May 2008

Venue:  HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp

The camps are free of charge with limited quota, on a first-come-first-served basis.  Deposit is refundable after the completion of the programme. Enrollment forms are obtainable from the Dean of Students' Office, United College or http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/UC_LIP/Enquiry.htm
