In the Honour List announced on 1 July 2008, members of the College were awarded honours by the HKSAR Government:

- Dr CHENG Yu-tung, College Trustee, was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal

署理書院輔導長任命

書院輔導長王香生教授於二零零八年七月十七至二十一日帶領聯合同學前往西安陝西師範大學進行由書院語文改善計劃舉辦的普通話及文化交流團。另於二零零八年八月一日至四日應邀出席在廣州舉行的奥林匹克科學大會作專題報告，由生物系朱利民教授出任署理輔導長。

Appointment of Acting Dean of Students

Professor Stephen H S WONG, Dean of Students, will lead a group of College students taking part in the College Language Improvement Project — Non-local Language and Culture Programme at the Shaanxi Normal University in China from 17-21 July 2008. Professor Wong has been invited as a Speaker at the 2008 Pre-Olympic International Convention on Science Education and Medicine in Sport, which will be held from 1-4 August 2008 in Guangzhou, China. Professor CHU Lee-man, Department of Biology, will be the Acting Dean of Students during the above periods.

聯合國際學院交流活動

由香港浸會大學及北京師範大學合作開辦的聯合國際學院(UIC)於二零零五年四月正式成立。建校使命是在內地建立博雅大學，培育國際精英人才，並以師、生、家、國的「四維教育」模式來推動全人教育。

在學生事務處處長李笑開女士的帶領下，聯合國際學院訪問團於二零零八年五月八日到訪書院，而書院亦於同月十六日到學院珠海校園作回訪。聯合書院訪問團由書院輔導長王香生教授率領，團員包括院務主任李雷寶玲女士及書院高級發展主任等。大學學術交流處(國內事務)處長黃咏女士亦籍此機會，參與訪問聯合國際學院珠海校舍的活動。兩次的交流會面中，兩所院校的學生事務同工分享了有關學生宿舍、學生組織，以至非形式教育活動的理念及管理經驗。

Exchange Activities with United International College

The United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, was jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University in April 2005. With a clear objective to build up a new model for liberal education in Mainland China, the UIC developed a ''Four-Point Education Model'', which united the College, the students, the parents and the society in delivering all round education to their students.

Led by Ms LI Siu-hoi, Director of Student Affairs Office, the UIC student affairs delegation visited United College on 8 May 2008. Headed by Professor Stephen H S WONG, Dean of Students, the United College delegation, paid a return visit to UIC Zhuhai campus on 16 May 2008. Members included Mrs Christina LI, College Secretary and Senior College Development Officers. Ms WONG Wing, Director of the Office of Academic Links (China), also took this opportunity and joined the United College delegation in visiting UIC at Zhuhai. At these two occasions, student affairs colleagues of the two institutions exchanged visions and experiences on the management of student hostels, student organizations and non-formal education activities.

台灣政治大學到訪聯合書院

台灣政治大學教務長蔡連康教授與五位代表於二零零八年六月二十日訪問聯合書院，了解推行書院制度的實際經驗，由書院輔導長王香生教授及院務主任李雷寶玲女士接待及分享心得。

Taiwan Chengchi University Visited United College

A six-member delegation led by Dr TSAI Lien-kong, Dean of Academic Affairs, from Taiwan Chengchi University, visited United College to explore potential issues and concerns in implementing the college system on 20 June 2008. Professor Stephen H S WONG, Dean of Students, and Mrs Christina LI, College Secretary, received the group and shared valuable insights learnt from the experiences

出版刊物 ──《聯合人五十年名錄》

聯合書院最近出版刊物《聯合人五十年名錄》，並已寄發予書院同仁及加入聯合書院校友會的聯合校友。此書紀錄了聯合書院過去五十年人物的芳名，當中包括校董會及基金會成員、行政人員、學生會、宿生會及校友會主席，以及合共五十屆近一萬八千名校友芳名。

College Publication ── Who's Who in United College

The College has recently issued a new publication, titled Who's Who in United College and sent to College Members and alumni who have joined the United College Alumni Association. This publication is a collection of names of all United College people in the past fifty years, including Trustees, Members of Endowment Fund Committee, Administrative Staff, Presidents and Vice-Presidents of Student Union, Resident Associations and Non-Residential Hall Student Associations, and nearly 18,000 United College alumni.
