校董會消息
書院校董會宣佈於2008年7月29日結束之校董選舉中，下列十八位校董獲選連任：陳普芬博士、張雙慶教授（書院院務委員會代表）、鄭家成先生、張景文牧師、張玉麟夫人、鍾汝滔教授、霍經麟先生、方文雄先生、方潤華博士、馮國培院長、何萬森先生（書院校友會代表）、李國忠先生（書院校友會代表）、廖烈武博士、岑才生先生、王啟達博士、王維基先生、殷巧兒女士及葉元章先生。而王香生教授（書院院務委員會代表）及余濟美教授（書院院務委員會代表）則獲選為新任校董。以上各校董之任期均為三年，由2008年8月1日至2011年7月31日。
現任校董會主席岑才生先生亦獲選連任校董會主席，任期三年，由2008年8月1日至2011年7月31日。
News from Board of Trustees
In the election concluded on 29 July 2008, Dr Peter P F Chan, Professor Chang Song-hing (Assembly of Fellows Representative), Mr Cheng Kar-shing, Rev Cheung King-man, Mrs Irene Y L Cheung, Professor Y T Chung, Mr Glenn Fok, Mr David M H Fong, Dr Fong Yun-wah, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, Mr Ho Man-sum (AlumniAssociation Representative), Mr Lee Kwok-chung (Alumni Association Representative), Dr Liu Lit-mo, Mr Shum Choi-sang, Dr Dickon K T Wong, Mr Ricky W K Wong, Ms Lina Yan and Mr Anthony Y C Yeh were re-elected Trustees of the Board. Two Assembly of Fellows Representatives, Professor Stephen H S Wong and Professor Jimmy C M Yu were newly elected Trustees of the Board. The term of these twenty Trustees will be for three years from 1 August 2008 to 31 July 2011.
Mr Shum Choi-sang has also been re-elected Chairman of the Board for a further term of three years from 1 August 2008 to 31 July 2011.
院長獲提名為大學聯席諮詢委員會委員
書院院長馮國培教授獲大學行政與計劃委員會提名擔任聯席諮詢委員會委員，任期為2008年9月1日至2010年7月31日。
College Head Nominated as Member of the University's Joint Consultative Committee
Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, was nominated by Administrative and Planning Committee as member of the Joint Consultative Committee with effect from 1 September 2008 to 31 July 2010.
署理院長任命
院長馮國培教授於2008年8月8日至16日休假，由書院輔導長王香生教授出任署理院長。
Appointment of Acting Head
Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, was on leave from 8 to 16 August 2008. Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students, was the Acting Head during the above period.

Launch of United College New Website
The newly revamped website for United College has been launched on 1 August 2008. Please visit the website at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc.
Enhanced with new and dynamic features, the revamped website has incorporated user-friendly functions including Event Calendar, What's New, Applications and Results, Photo Album, Giving to United College, and many more. It provides a convenient channel to access the latest news and development of the College.

第六十四期《聯合校刊》徵稿
《聯合校刊》乃書院每年出版一次之重要刊物。《聯合校刊》除記載書院名錄、學生生活及當年大事外，亦刊登員生著作，以豐富內容及提高趣味性。2007-08年度 《聯合校刊》(第六十四期) 編輯委員會現向各教職員、同學及校友徵稿，來稿可以中文或英文撰寫，題材及類別不限，字數約二千至二千五百字為合。

Calling for Articles for the United Bulletin Volume 64
An annual publication of United College, United Bulletin not only serves as an official chronicle of College personalia, student activities and major events, but also features literary works written by College staff and students. The College Publication Committee would like to invite contribution of articles to United Bulletin Volume 64 (2007-08). Each article should be around 2000 to 2005 words, written in English or Chinese on any topic and genre.

「香港相思 ── 余光中的文學生命」
余光中教授是卓越的學者和具有廣泛影響力的文學大師，於1974年應聘聯合書院中文系至1985年擔任香港中文大學中國語言及文學系教授，於2003年獲香港中文大學頒授榮譽文學博士學位，現為台灣中山大學光華講座教授。
為慶祝文學大師余光中教授八十歲壽辰及推廣中國現代文學，文學院、大學圖書館系統及聯合書院將於2008年12月份合辦一連串活動，包括講座、著作及手稿展覽等。是次活動除了為余光中教授賀壽外，也希望藉此鼓勵同學再認識中國現代文學，提高他們閱讀中國現代文學的興趣以及提升他們的中文寫作能力。

"Memories of Hong Kong — The Literary Life of Yu Kwang Chung"
Professor Yu Kwang-chung, a well-known scholar and literary master, joined United College in 1974 and served as Reader at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Chinese University of Hong Kong until 1985. He received an honorary doctorate of literature from the University in 2003. He is currently the Kung Hua Chair Professor of Sun Yat Sen University in Taiwan.
To celebrate Professor Yu's 80th birthday and promote Modern Chinese Literature, the Faculty of Arts, University Library System and United College will jointly organise a series of activities in December 2008. The activities will include public lecture, exhibition of Professor Yu's manuscripts, publications and photos. Besides celebrating the joyous occasion with Professor Yu, the organisers would also like to take this opportunity to raise students' interest in Modern Chinese Literature and stimulate their desire to engage in the process of literary creation.
The Organising Committee for Professor Yu Kwang Chung's 80th Birthday Celebration earnestly invites University staff members, students and alumni to contribute to the exhibition collection, any of Professor Yu's photos, manuscripts, newspaper clippings, and assignments or papers marked with Professor Yu's hand-writings. 《聯合邁進》第三期
《聯合邁進》第三期已於2008年7月25日出版。本期主題為「談政論道 ── 聯合書院政治與行政學系」。本出版刊物將分發予校內各單位、各大專院校、公共圖書館、所有聯合校友會會員及香港各中學。書院同仁亦可瀏覽《聯合邁進》網上版：http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/uwa/。
第四期《聯合邁進》將會於2008年10月底出版，並以介紹聯合書院環境保護工作為主題。《聯合邁進》編輯委員會現誠意向大家徵稿，歡迎聯合書院各教職員、校友及學生與大家分享對書院生活及教與學的感受。稿件內容、題材、語文及體裁不限，亦歡迎寄來圖片。

United We Advance Third Issue
The third issue of United We Advance has been published on 25 July 2008. The theme of this issue features on Department of Government and Public Affairs. The publications will be distributed to various departments/units of the University, tertiary institutions, public libraries, secondary schools in Hong Kong as well as all members of United College Alumni Association. The online version of United We Advance is also available at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/uwa/.
The fourth issue of United We Advance will be published in late October 2008. It will focus on the environmental protection works of United College. The Editorial Committee of United We Advance also invites articles from staff, alumni and students of United College. Please feel free to share your experience on college life and your insights on teaching and learning. There are no restrictions on the topic, language and genre. Photos are welcome too.

中大嘉年華 ── 支持奧運精神

CUHK Carnival ― In Support of The Olympic Spirit
