2009至10年度到訪傑出學人計劃接受報名
由書院基金會贊助的「到訪傑出學人」計劃每年邀請國際知名學者到訪書院，進行為期兩周的學術交流活動。贊助項目包括到訪傑出學人及其隨行配偶的商務客位來回機票、食宿費及酬金港幣兩萬元。至於訪問活動則由「到訪傑出學人」委員會及提名人共同商訂，一般包括兩次公開講座及與書院師生的學術交流活動。
2009至10年度「到訪傑出學人」計劃現正公開接受各學系同人提名。提名人須填妥報名表格，連同被提名學人的履歷交所屬系主任加簽，於2008年12月12日或以前送達「到訪傑出學人」委員會秘書林偉源先生。查詢或索取提名表格請電2609 7598或於書院網頁下載。
Call for Nominations for the 2009-10 Distinguished Visiting Scholar
Nominations are now invited from academic staff of United College for the 2009-10 Distinguished Visiting Scholar (DVS). The nominees should be internationally renowned scholars in any field of study. The DVS Scheme is sponsored by the College's Endowment Fund and offers a $20,000 honorarium for the invited scholar plus round-trip business class airfares and accommodation for the scholar and the accompanying spouse. The detailed programme for the visit will be designed by the DVS Committee in consultation with the nominator. The invited scholar is expected to deliver two public lectures and take part in exchange activities with staff and students of the College.
Each nomination, together with the nominee's full curricula vitae, should be endorsed by the chairpersons of the respective departments and addressed to Mr George Lam, Secretary of the DVS Committee on or before 12 December 2008. Tea Gathering for Fellows and College Coordinators
Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, met with Fellows and College Coordinators of United College at a tea gathering on 18 September 2008 and discussed ways to improve pastoral care to students.

書院院長馮國培教授於2008年9月19日書院午餐設宴歡迎新同事，合共九位聯合新同事出席。馮院長向新同事介紹書院之餘，更致送紀念品，歡迎他們加入聯合書院的大家庭。
Welcoming Lunch for News Staff
Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, hosted a Welcoming Lunch for New Staff at the College's Friday Luncheon on 19 September 2008. Nine new College staff attended the function. Apart from giving a brief introduction of the College, Professor Fung presented souvenirs and extended a warm welcome to them on behalf of all members of United College.
聯合師生交流津貼
師生交流津貼為加強聯合書院全職教員及行政人員與書院學生在課餘時間的溝通和交流而設，每名成員的全年基本津貼額為港幣一千元，而GEU4011通識科老師、院系聯絡人及舍監會有額外的津貼金額。每次聚餐之報銷金額以每名聯合師生港幣一百元為限。查詢請致電2696 1844 或2609 7580與書院學生輔導處石曉風女士或鄭佩純女士聯絡，或瀏覽書院網頁http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/UC_SocialFund_Form.pdf 。
United College Social Fund
The objective of the Social Fund is to strengthen contact and interaction between teachers and students outside the classroom. It supports expenses of United College teaching or administrative staff members when they take United College students out for meals/refreshments for consultation and advice. The yearly budget is $1000 per staff member. Additional budget is allocated to supervisors of GEU4011, College Coordinators and Wardens. The allowance covers meals for staff and students of up to HK$100 per person each time. 2008奧地利拍全能公開賽
本院成員體育部導師韓雪女士、張峻同學及聯合書院鄭偉傑同學於8月29至31日遠赴奧地利參加「2008奧地利拍全能公開賽」，獲參賽組別第六名的優異成積。

Racketlon Worldchampion 2008
College member, Ms Hon Suet from Physical Education Unit and her teammates, Mr Cheung Chun and Mr Cheng Wai-kit (UC Student) won the sixth place in the Racketlon Worldchampion 2008 which was held from 29 to 31 August 2008 in Austria.

Community Services
College member, Professor Kwan Hoi-shan, Dean of the Faculty of Science, has been re-appointed by the Government as the Chairman of the Expert Committee on Food Safety for two years from 15 September 2008.
College member, Professor Peter C K Cheung from Department of Biology, has been appointed by the Government as the member of the Expert Committee on Food Safety for two years from 15 September 2008.

聯合書院教職員宿舍接受申請
聯合書院教職員宿舍一個三房單位現正接受已婚的書院全職教職員申請。申請人及配偶不可享有大學或其僱主提供之任何房屋津貼。委員會將接申請人的工作需要及對聯合書院之貢獻批核申請。
有興趣申請的同事可從書院網頁http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/forms/StfResApplication.pdf下載申請表格，或致電2696 1948與本院區珮琪女士聯絡。填妥的申請表及證明文件必須以密件形式寄至本院院務主任李雷寶玲女士，截止申請日期為2008年11月14日。
United College Staff Residence Vacant Flat for Application
A three-room flat at the United College Staff Residence is vacant for eligible married full-time staff of United College to apply. Both the applicant and his/her spouse must not be entitled to housing benefits from the University or their respective employer. Applications will be assessed mainly based on the applicants' operational needs to work for and at United College as well as his/her contribution to the College.

The completed application form, together with supporting documents, should reach Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary under confidential cover on or before 14 November 2008.
