本院校友獲頒榮譽博士學位
本院校友李鉅能先生於2008年12月12日獲香港公開大學在第十七屆畢業典禮中頒贈榮譽工商管理博士學位，以表揚他的成就及貢獻。李鉅能校友多年來積極支持聯合書院，並慷慨捐贈，成立「福意助學金」，資助有需要而且成績優異的工商管理課程學生。李先生熱心公益，現任為香港童軍總會副會長及香港童軍會港島地域會長，推動多項書院與童軍總會合作的活動，創造機會予書院同學實踐領導才能。
UC Alumnus Conferred Honorary Doctorate
UC alumnus Mr Solomon K N Lee was conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Business Administration by the Open University of Hong Kong at its Seventeenth Congregation on 12 December 2008, in recognition of his achievements and contributions. A staunch supporter of the College, Mr Lee is the donor of the Fook Yee Prizes which provide financial support to needy business students with outstanding academic performance. As the Vice President of the Scout Association in Hong Kong and the Association's President for Hong Kong Island Region, Mr Lee has contributed tremendously to the many joint activities between the Association and United College, in fostering students' development of leadership ability.

本院校友侯文婷(系工/07)研發嶄新股票資訊分析系統——VMiner，奪得第六屆「挑戰杯」中國大學生創業計劃競賽港澳地區金獎。

UC Alumna Won Champion of the sixth "Challenge Cup" National Business Plan Competition for College Students in Hong Kong and Macau Area
UC alumna, Ms Hou Wen-ting (SEM/07) developed a stock information analysis system-VMiner and won the Champion of the sixth "Challenge Cup" National Business Plan Competition for College Students in Hong Kong and Macau Area.

聯合書院隊奪中大高爾夫球日隊際季軍
本院四位校友范兆琛先生(94/生物) 、葉冠東先生(86/財務) 、張耀成博士(74/數學)及蘇禮木先生(72/工管)於2008年10月31日香港中文大學高爾夫球日中代表聯合書院奪得中大盃隊際淨桿獎季軍，為聯合書院增光。另范兆琛先生及張耀成博士聯同兩位隊友再奪公開盃隊際淨桿獎冠軍，而聯合校友林星群先生(95/工管)與隊友則奪亞軍。
United College Team Won the 2nd Runner Up in CUHK Golf Day
Four UC alumni, Mr Simpson Fan (94/BIO), Mr Ip Koon-tung Patrick (86/FIN), Dr Y S Cheung (74/MAT) and Mr Raymond L M So (72/BBA) represented United College and won the 2nd Runner Up of CU Cup in the CUHK Golf Day on 31 October 2008. Furthermore, Mr Simpson Fan, Dr Y S Cheung and their teammates also won the Champion in the CUHK Team Open - Best Net Competition, while Mr Stanley S K Lam (95/BBA) and his teammates won the 1st runner up in the same competition.
2008年中大校友日院長晚宴
2008年中大校友日院長晚宴已於2008年12月7日（星期日）於聯合書院學生飯堂順利舉行。聯合書院院長馮國培教授及聯合書院校友會會長殷巧兒女士於晚宴上致歡迎辭，當晚逾二百五十位校友及家人一同參與晚宴，共度一個歡愉的晚上。屈經緯校友及梁建飛校友並與大家分享本年9月以單車環繞台灣島的壯舉及為書院設立「果敢與奉獻獎」的理念。
2008 CUHK Alumni Homecoming—Head's Dinner
The Head's Dinner of 2008 CUHK Alumni Homecoming was held on 7 December 2008 (Sunday) at United College Student Canteen. Professor Fung Kwok-pui, Head of United College and Ms Lina H Y Yan, President of United College Alumni Association, delivered welcoming addresses to alumni. Over 250 alumni and their family members participated in this dinner gathering and had an enjoyable evening on United College campus. College Alumni, Mr Wat King-wai and Mr Leung Kin-fei shared their experience in cycling around Taiwan and explained the fund-raising initiatives for setting up a prize for the College.
