| 書院於2008年12月12日舉辦一項名為健康聯合人系列 — 預防性健康檢查推廣計劃，聯絡健康檢查的承辦商提供特價的健康檢查組合，作為聯合書院員工的福利。合共四十六位聯合書院教職員及配偶參加本計劃。為使同事更方便使用服務，承辦商更前來聯合書院為同事收取化驗樣本。書院以先到先得的方式贊助港幣一百元予聯合書院同事作驗身，以鼓勵同事採取主動，作預防性的健康檢查。 |
| The College has launched a Preventive Health Check-up Incentive Scheme for all United College staff and spouses. Altogether 46 United College staff and their spouses joined this discounted health check-up packages. The vendor provided on-campus specimen collection to allow more convenience to staff on 12 December 2008. The College also provided a sponsorship of $100 for each United College staff who pre-registered for this service on first-come-first-served basis as an incentive for the preventive health check-up. |
| 本院兩位教員獲得2007至08年度大學通識教育模範教學獎，他們分別是心理學系張雷教授及書院通識課程兼 職導師Ms Tessa Stewart，而Ms Stewart 更是首位任教書院通識教育科目獲獎的老師，她任教的科目GEU2012 「領袖英語訓練計劃」。現時在大學任教通識教育科學 目的老師超過二百位，本年度全大學共有三位表現優秀、卓然出群的通識老師獲頒此獎項，而本院老師共得兩獎。頒獎禮將於2009年3月舉行，書院謹向張雷教授及 Ms Stewart致以衷心祝賀。 |
| Two College staff, Professor Chang Lei from Department of Psychology and Ms Tessa Stewart, part-time instructor of the College General Education Programme, are recently awarded the University's Senate Committee on General Education Exemplary Teaching Award in General Education for 2007-08. Ms Stewart is also the first staff receiving this award by teaching College General Education courses, and the course she teaches is GEU2012 “English for Leadership”. Over 200 teachers offer General Education courses at CUHK, only three teaching staff members, with two from the College, are honoured with this prestigious award for excellence in teaching General Education courses this year. The presentation ceremony will be held in March 2009. Our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Chang and Ms Stewart! |
| 書院思源文娛中心會所管理委員會及書院教職員聯誼會於2008年12月14日假思源文娛中心合辦聖誕節講故 事活動。透過唱歌及遊戲，Mrs Cattermole向參與活動的小朋友講解聖誕節的故事。超過二十名書院教職員子女出席當日活動。 |
| The College Si Yuan Amenities Centre Management Committee and the College Staff Association jointly organised a Christmas Story Telling on 14 December 2008 at the College Si Yuan Amenities Centre. Mrs Cattermole told the story of Christmas to the children through singing Christmas songs and playing games. Over 20 children of the College staff members joined the activity. |

| 為進一步收集各方對書院通識教育課程目標及果效的意見，通識教育發展工作小組於2008年12月17日在文 怡閣舉行教職員座談會，連同10月至11月期間與校友學生的活動，書院已初步掌握三方面的意見，通識教育辦公室謹向參與分享的書院成員致意，感謝他們的寶貴意見。書院計劃在未來數月會進行大型問卷調查，進行廣泛的諮詢工作，以期落實書院的「果效為本方針」目標及理想果效。 |
| To collect opinions from various sources on the ideal objectives and desirable learning outcomes of the College General Education Programme, the Working Group for the Development of General Education has organized a staff session on 17 December 2008 at the Staff Common Room. Together with the sessions held in October and November 2008 for alumni and students respectively, the College has initially gathered valuable inputs from these three occasions, and the College General Education Office would like to thank those participants for sharing their valuable comments. In the following months, it is planned to conduct large-scale survey to finalize the “Outcomes-based Approaches” objectives and learning outcomes. |
