香港中文大學聯合書院2009年周年研討會──「台前幕後說話劇」

聯合書院2009年周年研討會已定於3月6日（星期五）上午十時假聯合書院鄭棟材樓C1講室舉行。今年的研討會主題為「台前幕後說話劇」。書院邀得香港特別行政區立法會議員陳淑莊女士，「眾」劇團藝術主任、香港中文大學藝術行政主任兼邵逸夫堂經理蔡錫昌先生，一休7A班戲劇組藝術總監梁承謙校友一同擔任主講嘉賓，與師生分享對香港話劇發展的見解。香港中文大學聯合書院校友會會長殷巧兒女士將擔任研討會的主持。

2009 Annual Workshop of United College, CUHK "Talking Over HK Plays On and Off Stage"

The 2009 Annual Workshop of United College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong will be held on Friday, 6 March 2009 at 10:00 am at the C1 Lecture Theatre of T C Cheng Building, United College.  The topic of this year's workshop is "Talking Over HK Plays On and Off Stage".  Ms Tanya Chan, Member of the Legislative Council, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Mr Hardy Tsoi, Artistic Director of"TNT" Theatre, Arts Administrator of the Office of the Arts Administrator cum Manager of Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Mr Leung Shing Him, Yatyau Artistic Director of Class 7A Drama Group will speak on the topic.  Ms Lina H Y Yan, President of the Alumni Association of United College, the Chinese University of Hong Kong will be the moderator of the Workshop.

The 102nd Meeting of the Assembly of Fellows will be held on Friday, 20 February 2009 at 11:00am in the College Board Room.

渣打馬拉松2009──聯合書院隊

渣打馬拉松2009已於2009年2月8日（星期日）舉行，書院招募近60名聯合員生及校友加入聯合書院隊，並舉辦相關講座及熱身跑，為隊員做好準備。於2009年1月16日舉行的熱身跑活動中，書院派發為隊員特別訂做的紀念T恤，並拍攝大合照，以激勵士氣。

Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009—United College Team

The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009 took place on Sunday, 8 February 2009. United College Team, comprisinig of almost 60 UC students, staff members and alumni, was formed to participate in this popular sport event. The College organised talks and Trial Runs to help team members prepare for the Race. At the Trial Run on 16 January 2009, UC Runner's t-shirts were distributed and a group photo was taken to build up team spirit.

樂步行（第三期）

大學健康促進及防護委員會於1月9日舉行第三次樂步行活動，逾七百師生及教職員由大學站出發，經新落成的西部教學綜合大樓步行前往聯合書院，全程約二十八分鐘，是經聯合梯以外，另一條快速路線。是次樂步行更增加了環保元素，沿途有解說員講解校園的樹木，並派發資訊單張，加強參與者認識身體力行響應環保的重要。

Walking Campaign (Phase 3)

Over 700 staff and students joined the Walking Campaign (Phase III) on 9 January to help promote a walking culture on campus, as well as a new route taking commuters from the University Station entrance to United College. The walkers set off from the entrance of the University Station, passed through the new Western Teaching Complex and arrived at their destination—Tsang Shiu Tim Building of United College. The whole walk took about 26 minutes. The walk incorporated illustrations of plants along the route and introduction leaflets to arouse environmental awareness among participants

社會服務

本院成員生物系朱利民教授獲政務司司長再度委任為環境及自然保育基金委員會委員，任期兩年，由2008年10月16日起生效。

本院成員生物系關海山教授獲商務及經濟發展局局長委任為以個人名義出任認可諮詢委員會主席，任期兩年，由2008年11月1日起生效。

本院校友高靜芝女士（70/工管）獲香港特別行政區政府再度委任為婦女事務委員會主席，任期三年，由2009年1月15日起生效。

本院校友劉惠靈牧師(74/社工)及杜子瑩女士（76/政政）獲香港特別行政區政府再度委任為攜手扶弱基金諮詢委員會的非官方成員，任期兩年，由2009年2月1日起生效。  

Community Services

College member, Professor Chu Lee-man from Department of Biology, has been re-appointed by the Chief Secretary for Administration as a member of the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee for two years from 16 October 2008.

College member, Professor Kwan Hoi-shan from Department of Biology, has been appointed by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development as the Chairman of the Accreditation Advisory Board on an ad personam basis for two years from 1 November 2008.

College alumna, Ms Sophia C C Kao (70/BBA) has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Women's Commission by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for three years, with effect from 15 January 2009.

College alumnus, the Reverend Dorothy W L Lau (74/SWK) and Ms Theresa C Y Tao (76/GPA) have been re-appointed as incumbent members to the Advisory Committee of the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for two years, with effect from 1 February 2009.

思源文娛中心消息——調製雞尾酒工作坊

書院思源文娛中心會所管理委員會於2009年1月20日舉辦調製鷄尾酒工作坊，逾三十多名師生及校友出席。

The College Si Yuan Amenities Centre Club Management Committee organised a Workshop on Cocktail Blending and Tasting on 20 January 2009. Over 30 students, staff and alumni attended. 

日本早稻田大學交流團到訪聯合書院

日本早稻田大學交流團於2009年1月29日到訪聯合書院，交流團的成員包括早稻田大學校長特別顧問江夏健一教授及國際教育部副院長水戶考道教授，由院長馮國培教授親自接待。

Delegation from Waseda University Visited United College

 A delegation from Waseda University, Japan visited United College on 29 January 2009. The members of the delegation included Professor Kenichi Enatsu, Special Adviser to the President and Professor Takamichi Mito, Associate Dean for International Education. Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head received the delegation.
