教職員著作出版資助計劃

本院為鼓勵教職員積極從事研究及著述，並將研究成果或作品出版，從而提高教職員在其本身專業及學術界的地位，並使作品能夠獲得適當的評價及認同，本院基金會於2005年起撥款資助成立「教職員著作出版資助計劃」，資助本院教職員出版研究成果，結集成「聯合叢書」系列。

聯合叢書系列第一冊《香港舊體文學論集》已於2008年10月出版，主編為本院中國語言及文學系黃坤堯教授。

Staff Publication Scheme

The Staff Publication Scheme, supported by the United College Endowment Fund, was set up in 2005 to encourage the staff of United College to actively participate in research activities and to publish their findings. The College targets to publish a"United College Book Series" under this scheme. It is also hoped that such publishing activities will enhance the College staff's professional and academic standing and help them to gain recognition for their works.

The first book《香港舊體文學論集》was published in October 2008 under this "United College Book Series". The editor of this book is Professor Wong Kuan-io from Department of Chinese Language and Literature.

本院成員獲選為IEEE院士

本院成員機械與自動化工程學系劉雲輝教授獲工程學國際權威組織電機及電子工程師學會（IEEE）推選為院士，以表揚他在「多指機械手抓取技術與視覺伺服控制系統」上的重大貢獻。

College Member Elected IEEE Fellow

College member, Professor Liu Yun-hui from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, has been elected Fellows of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his extraordinary accomplishment in "robotic multi-fingered grasping and adaptive visual servo systems".

本院成員兩度獲頒國家自然科學獎

本院成員化學講座教授謝作偉教授以「碳硼烷及其金屬碳硼烷的合成、結構和反應」榮獲2008年度國家自然科學獎二等獎，頒獎典禮1月9日於北京舉行。謝教授曾於1997年獲頒國家自然科學獎三等獎。

College Member Awarded State Natural Science Award Twice

College member, Professor Xie Zuo-wei, Professor of Chemistry, was conferred a second-class award of the 2008 State Natural Science Award (SNSA) in recognition of his achievement in the project "Carboranes and Metallacarboranes: Synthesis, Structure and Reactivity". The award presentation ceremony was held on

9 January in Beijing. Previously, in 1997, Professor Xie was conferred a third-class State Natural Science Award.

訪問研究學人計劃

中國人民大學化學系林隽教授於2009年1月20日至2009年2月19日期間蒞院訪問，與本院化學系余濟美教授進行學術研究。

Resident Fellow Scheme

Professor Lin Jun from Department of Chemistry, Renmin University of China, visited the College from 20 January 2009 to 19 February 2009 and conducted research with Professor Jimmy C M Yu from Department of Chemistry.

聯合書院教職員宿舍接受申請

聯合書院教職員宿舍一個兩房單位現正接受已婚的書院全職教職員申請。申請人及配偶不可享有大學或其僱主提供之任何房屋津貼。委員會將按申請人的工作需要及對聯合書院之貢獻批核申請。

United College Staff Residence Vacant Flat for Application

A two-room flat at the United College Staff Residence is vacant for eligible married full-time staff of United College to apply. Both the applicant and his/her spouse must not be entitled to housing benefits from the University or their respective employer. Applications will be assessed mainly based on the applicants' operational needs to work for and at United College as well as his/her contribution to the College.
