聯合書院邁進地球村系列――中國企業體驗計劃
聯合書院、逸夫書院及浙江大學竺可楨學院合辦本年度的「中國企業體驗計劃」，活動日期為本年2009年6月30日至8月2日。計劃分成兩部份，兩校合共三十九名同學現正在杭州進行三星期的企業實習及以「人力資源管理與企業持續發展」為題作學術研究。計劃的第 二部份將於香港進行，兩校的同學將於7月26日回港，同學將被安排到本地的政府部門、機構及私人企業參觀及訪問。 |

UC GOAL Programme―China Internship Programme
United College, Shaw College and Zhejiang University are now jointly organizing the China Internship Programme from 30 June-2 August 2009. The programme is divided into 2 parts. 39 students from United College, Shaw College and Zhejiang University are now attending a 3-week internship programme in Hangzhou and conducting academic research about Human Resources Management. The students will return to Hong Kong on 26 July 2009 to visit different government departments and organizations in Hong Kong. |

聯合書院「優先錄取計劃」資訊日
聯合書院於5月9日及23日為2009至10年度新一批透過「優先錄取計劃」入讀香港中文大學的新生舉行了兩次資訊日，約有八十名新生出席。資訊日的活動包括由書院院長馮國培教授及輔導長王香生教授介紹香港中文大學書院制度及聯合書院的特色、在學同學分享書院生活、書院資料展覽及參觀校園等。 |

United College Orientation Sessions for Students under Early Admission Scheme (EAS)
The College organised two orientation sessions for the new cohort of students admitted under the Early Admission Scheme on 9 and 23 May 2009. Orientation activities included introduction of the College System and unique features of United College by Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head and Professor Stephen H S Wong, College Dean of Students, sharing by current students, College information display and campus tours. About 80 EAS students attended the sessions. |

認識廉政公署之旅
書院輔導長王香生教授於2009年5月14日下午率領四十多位聯合書院學生，訪問位於北角的香港廉政公署總部。活動由書院學生輔導處及學生身心健康工作小組合辦，並獲得岑維休先生德育計劃資助。書院十分感謝聯合書院校友廉政公署首席教育及宣傳主任蘇張麗影女士(74/英文)，安排講座及開放展覽館予本院學生參觀。 |

Tour to ICAC Headquarters
Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students, led more than forty students to visit the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption Headquarters in North Point on 14 May 2009. The activity was jointly organised by the Dean of Students' Office and the Taskforce on Students' Well-being, and was subsidized by the Mr Shum Wai Yau Moral Education Scheme. Special thanks goes to the College alumna, Mrs Vanessa So (74/ENG), Principal Education and Mass Communication Officer of ICAC, who made the arrangement for the students to visit the exhibition gallery and attend a talk about the history and structure of ICAC. |

Graduation Ceremony of Campus Health Ambassadors Programme
Twelve College students took part in Campus Health Ambassadors Programme organised by the University's Health Promotion and Protection Committee. A graduation ceremony was held on 14 May 2009. Our students received certificates for the completion of the programme and won the Prominent Project Award. United College student, Miss Lam Ching Yi Ginni (MIE/1) was also awarded Prominent Health Ambassador. |

書院語文改善計劃──暑期普通話及英語學習營
為提高同學的語文水平，書院於2009年5月舉辦一個普通話學習營及兩個英語學習營。普通話學習營於5月15至17日在香港青年協會賽馬會西貢戶外訓練營舉行，共二十一位同學參加。英語學習營則於5月12至14日及5月16至18日在突破青年村舉行，共五十位同學參加。 |

UC Language Improvement Project―Putonghua and English Immersion Camps
United College organised one Putonghua Immersion Camp and two English Immersion Camps in May 2009 to enhance students' language proficiency. Twenty-one students joined the Putonghua Immersion Camp, which was held from 15 to 17 May at HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp. The English Immersion Camps took place from 12 to 14 May and 16 to 18 May at Breakthrough Youth Village with 50 students joining the camps. |

第九屆聯合書院岑才生學長計劃年終經驗分享會已於2009年5月16日（星期六）假書院思源文娛中心舉行。當日有六十多位學長、學員和統籌委員會成員出席，暢談過去一年參與學長計劃的經驗和感受，並對來年的工作提出寶貴意見。學長和學員於會後享用下午茶，歡度了一個輕鬆愉快的周末。 |

United College Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme Year-end Sharing Session
This year's United College Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme year-end sharing session was held at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre on Saturday, 16 May 2009. Over 60 mentors, mentees and members of the Coordinating Committee participated in the session. They shared their experience and offered suggestions for future improvement. The sharing session concluded with a delicious afternoon tea buffet. |

A tea-gathering for this year's overseas and postgraduate scholarship recipients was held on 18 June 2009 at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. Mr Stephen Leung, donor of the S Leung Postgraduate Scholarship, Professor Woo Kam-sang, Chairman of the Scholarships and Student Finance Committee, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, scholarship recipients and their parents as well as members of the College were present. |

Orientation Camp
The 2009 United College Orientation Camp will be held on the College campus from 26 to 29 August 2009. The theme of the camp is "United Stories". Through the four-day-three-night camp, the Organizing Committee hopes that freshmen could feel the strengths and characteristics of United College, and facilitate the freshmen to explore their potentials and develop their sense of belonging towards the College. In the end, all participants can write up their own stories of the undergraduate years. 中大運動代表隊授旗禮暨「楊明標及區寶琪優秀運動員獎學金」頒獎典禮 本院劉詩韻同學（運動科學/4）獲頒本年度「楊明標及區寶琪優秀運動員獎學金」及「校長傑出運動員獎」。 另外，本院男子乒乓球運動員陳潤恆同學(經濟/1)、男子排球運動員李臻樂同學(精算/1)及黃晞峻同學(運動科學/4)出席本年七月舉行假塞爾維亞舉行的第二十五屆世界大學生運動會。

Flag Presentation Ceremony Cum Yeung Ming Biu and Au Po Kee Superior Athletes Scholarship Presentation Ceremony
UC student, Miss Lau Sze-wan(SPE/4) was awarded Yeung Ming Biu and Au Po Kee Superior Athlete Scholarship and Vice-Chancellor Outstanding Athlete Award this year.Furthermore, three UC students, Mr Chan Yun-hang (ECO/1), Mens' Table Tennis Team, and Mr Lee Chun-lok (IFA/1) and Mr Wong Hei-chun (SPE/4) participated in the 25th Summer Universiade at Belgrade in July.

本院萌芽學者學術交流團一行十人由書院輔導長王香生教授、學術顧問新聞與傳播學院馮應謙教授及美國威廉士大學交換導師胡德恩先生(Mr Christian Hudak) 帶領下，於2009年5月18日至27日出訪清華大學。聯合書院萌芽學者以「北京奧運會投射出來的中國國際形象」為題進行專題研究，並在清華大學公開發表有關研究結果。 |

The 16th Budding Scholars Exchange Programme
Seven budding scholars of the College, led by the Dean of Students, Professor Stephen Wong and Academic Adviser, Professor Anthony Fung and the College Williams Fellow, Mr Christian Hudak, visited Tsinghua University from 18 to 27 May 2009. The United College students presented their research findings on the topic "The international image of China as projected by The Beijing Olympic Games", at Tsinghua University. |

聯合書院於2009年5月15日下午假思源館舉行招聘講座，講題為「海潚後的生存路向」，由麥永光校友、陳肇賢先生及林忠成先生擔任演講嘉賓。三位講者的演講內容豐富，令出席的同學及校友增加對金融保險業的認識。講座後的茶點時間中，講者與同學進行了更深入的互動交流。 |

Career Development Series―Recruitment Seminar
A Recruitment Talk was held by the College on 15 May 2009 at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. The College was honoured to have Mr Tony Mak (College Alumnus), Mr Elex Chan and Mr Jones Lam to be the guest speakers on the topic of "The Way Out after the Financial Tsunami". The Talk was well received by the participating students and alumni, who gained better understanding in the fields of finance and insurance. Speakers and participants had more exchanges during the tea reception after the talk. |

權智創新與創業獎
2008-09年度聯合書院「權智創新與創業獎」於2009年5月25日誕生，並邀請得書院校董及校友兼贊助人譚偉豪博士於比賽當晚作評判及親授獎項給各獲獎同學。今年共三隊同學獲選進入最後比賽階段，冠軍隊伍由工商管理學士綜合課程三年級鄭營啓及英文系三年級黃奕綾組成，他們的商業計劃題目為「Happy Life」，獲得獎金港幣八千元。 |

Group Sense Innovation and Entrepreneurial Project Award
Three teams had been selected to the final round for the Award of 2008-09, and the presentation of business plans to the judging panel was held on 25 May 2009. The team comprising Cheng Ying-kai (BBA/3) and Veronica Lam (ENG/3) with business plan titled "Happy Life" won the Champion prize of HK$8,000. The College was honored to have Dr Samson Tam, College Trustee and alumnus sponsoring this Award Programme, to be one of the judges who presented prizes to all winners at the dinner held on the same day. |

本院學生奪「商業精英國際挑戰賽」香港區決賽冠軍
本院陳彥豐同學（環球商業/一）及黎俊生同學（環球商業/一）與兩位隊友憑著一個助業績欠佳的舊酒店轉虧為盈的商業方案，奪得由英國特許管理會計師公會舉辦的「商業精英國際挑戰賽」香港區決賽冠軍、最佳報告獎及最佳報告摘要獎，而陳同學更獲最佳演說獎。他們將於今年八月代表香港，前往新加坡參與全球總決賽。

UC Students Won the Champion of the CIMA Global Business Challenge in Hong Kong
College students, Mr Chan Yin-fung (BBA/1), Mr Lai Chun-sang (BBA/1) and his two team members won the Champion of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Global Business Challenge in Hong Kong, with a case study of saving the business of a moribund hotel. The team also won the Best Business Report Award and the Best Executive Summary Award, while Mr Chan was awarded the Best Speaker Award. They will represent Hong Kong in the grand final competition to be held in Singapore in August.
