聯合書院校董會宣佈通過接納何厚浠先生及李鉅能博士為校董會新成員，任期兩年，由2009年8月1日至2011年7月31日。

Board of Trustees News

The United College Board of Trustees has elected Mr Hamilton H H Ho and Dr Solomon K N Lee to its membership. The tenure of the two new Trustees is from 1 August 2009 to 31 July 2011.

新生開學典禮

本年度書院新生開學典禮訂於2009年9月11日（星期五）上午11時30分假邵逸夫堂舉行，歡迎本院員生蒞臨觀禮，書院安排於典禮期間拍攝大合照及於下午1時假文怡閣舉行午餐，敬希教職員踴躍出席支持。典禮後將有專車接載嘉賓由邵逸夫堂往書院張祝珊師生康樂大樓出席午宴。

Initiation Ceremony for Freshmen

The 2009-10 Initiation Ceremony for Freshmen will be held on Friday, 11 September 2009 at 11:30 am at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. All College members are invited to join the College in welcoming this year’s freshmen. A group photograph will be taken during the Ceremony and staff members are also invited to join the Luncheon after Ceremony at 1:00 pm at the College Staff Common Room.  Shuttle buses will be arranged to take staff members from Sir Run Run Shaw Hall to College campus for the luncheon.

聯合書院五十三周年院慶典禮

書院五十三周年院慶典禮訂於10月23日（星期五）上午11時30分假大學邵逸夫堂舉行。書院校董會主席岑才生先生及香港特別行政區政府環境局常任秘書長王倩儀太平紳士將擔任主禮嘉賓。典禮詳情將於稍後公佈。

United College 53rd Anniversary Ceremony

The Ceremony marking the 53rd Anniversary of United College will be held on Friday, 23 October 2009 at 11:30 am at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall of the University.  Mr Shum Choi-sang, SBS, JP, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees and Ms Anissa Wong Sean-yee, Permanent Secretary for the Environment, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will officiate at the Ceremony. Details of the Ceremony will be

announced later.

書院校友獲特區政府授勳

於本年度七月一日公佈之授勳名單當中，本院成員獲香港特別行政區政府頒授勳章： 

- 本院校友朱淑儀醫生(98/醫學)獲頒行政長官社區服務獎狀

- 本院校友劉明光先生(87/會計)及陳述華醫生(00/醫學)獲頒行政長官公共服務獎狀

- 本院校友池麗明女士(75/工管)、陳美寶女士(89/工管) 及陳松青先生（91/物理）獲委任為太平紳士

College Alumni Awarded HKSAR Honours

In the Honour List announced on 1 July 2009, College alumni were awarded honours by the HKSAR Government:

- College alumna, Dr Chu Suk-yi (98/MED) was awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Services

- College alumni, Mr Vincent M K Liu (87/ACG) and Dr Chan Shut-wah (00/MED), were awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Services

- College alumni, Ms Chi Lai-ming (75/BBA), Ms Mable Chan (89/BBA) and Mr Chan Chung-ching (91/PHY) were appointed as Justice of the Peace

社會服務

本院成員大學副校長楊綱凱教授獲政府委任為香港科技園公司董事局的新成員，任期兩年，由2009年7月1日起生效。

本院校友劉惠靈牧師 (74/社工)獲政府再度委任為安老事務委員會委員，任期兩年，由2009年7月30日起生效。

Community Services

College member, Professor Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, was appointed by the Government as board member of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation for two years, with effect from 1 July 2009.

College alumnus, Rev Dorothy W L Lau (74/SWK) was re-appointed by the Government as members to the Elderly Commission for two years, with effect from 30 July 2009.

第六十五期《聯合校刊》徵稿

《聯合校刊》乃書院每年出版一次之重要刊物。《聯合校刊》除記載書院名錄、學生生活及當年大事外，亦刊登員生著作，以豐富內容及提高趣味性。2008-09年度 《聯合校刊》(第六十五期) 編輯委員會現向各教職員、同學及校友徵稿，來稿可以中文或英文撰寫，題材及類別不限，字數約二千至二千五百字為合。

Calling for Articles for the United Bulletin Volume 65

An annual publication of United College, United Bulletin, not only serves as an official chronicle of College personalia, student activities and major events, but also features literary works written by College staff members and students. The College Publication Committee would like to invite contribution of articles to United Bulletin Volume 65 (2008-09). Each article should be around 2000 to 2005 words, written in English or Chinese on any topic and genre.
