聯合書院五十三周年院慶紀盛 |
United College 53rd Anniversary
Celebrations Weeks of celebration activities including the Opening Ceremony, UC Fun Run, Open Bazaar and the 53rd Anniversary Ceremony were successfully concluded on 23 October 2009. Over a thousand students and guests of the College attended the Anniversary Ceremony at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The Ceremony was followed by a Birthday Party held on the College campus. The celebration reached its climax with the lion dance by the College Chinese Martial Arts Society and the cutting of birthday cake sponsored by the College Staff Association. The highlight of the anniversary activities was the "feast-for-a-thousand" held in the evening. About 1,000 College staff, students, alumni and guests enjoyed the dinner. College Trustees, alumni and staff donated an assortment of prizes for the raffle. The College Alumni Association sponsored barbecue pigs for the banquet. It was a wonderful night with a variety show performed by students as well as pop singers Mr Alex Fong and Miss Stephy Tang. |

美育發展計劃--《藝術中與西》工作坊:木刻版畫 由聯合書院藝術顧問利漢楨教授與書院導師暨中大藝術系兼任講師張惠儀博士合作開辦的《藝術中與西》工作坊,已於2009年11月3日完滿結束。參加者不單從專題講座中學到不少有關藝術作品的知識,更有幸得到利教授親身指導,進行木刻版畫創作,實在獲益良多。 |

Development—Art East and West Workshop: Woodblock Prints Art East and West Workshop, led by Professor Lee Hon-ching, Art Advisor of United College and Dr Cheung Wai-yee, College Tutor and Part-time Lecturer, Department of Fine Arts, concluded successfully on 3 November 2009. Participants learned from the lectures and got hands-on experience in Woodblock Printing under Professor Lee's instruction. |
書院聚會--德育講座第五講:警察故事 2009年10月16上午,聯合書院假西部教學大樓六號講堂舉行「德育講座」第五講。書院蒙 吳家聲校友(社會/85)擔任演講嘉賓,以「警察故事」為題,與四百多位聯合同學分享他在警界工作多年的經歷,及他對人生的反思和體會,吳校友並鼓勵同學提升品德操守。在問答環節中,場內同學反應熱烈。 當日,院長馮國培教授向本院成員公共衛生及基層醫療學院黃至生教授致賀。黃教授獲頒由香港紅十字會和香港電台合辦的「香港人道年獎2009」,以表揚他對推動人道精神所作出的貢獻。 |
College Assembly–The 5th Moral
Education Talk: Police Story The 5th Moral Education Talk was held by United College in the morning of 16 October 2009, at Lecture Theatre 6 of the Teaching Complex at Western Campus. The College was honoured to heave our alumns Mr David K S Ng (SOC/85), to be the guest speaker with the topic "Police Story". Mr Ng shared his precious working experience in the Hong Kong Police Force and his self-reflection on life. Mr Ng also encouraged students to pursue a high moral standard. The talk was well received by over four hundred United College students. Students interacted actively with the speaker in the "Question and Answer" Session. At the College Assembly, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, congratulated College member, Professor Martin C S Wong of the School of Public Health and Primary Care, on being honored with "Hong Kong Humanity Award 2009" by the Hong Kong Read Cross and Radio Television Hong Kong, to pay tribute to his contribution to the spirit of humanity. |
聯合書院2009至10年度獎學金頒獎典禮 本年度書院獎學金頒獎典禮已於2009年11月10日下午5時30分假香港中文大學邵逸夫堂舉行。是日蒙書院校董會副主席張煊昌博士蒞臨主禮,並蒙多位校董及捐獎人撥冗親臨頒獎。獲獎同學、家長、校友、大學及書院同仁等近五百人參加,場面十分熱鬧。書院於典禮後分別設茶會及晚宴招待獲獎同學、家長及捐獎人。 |
2009-10 United College Scholarship
Presentation Ceremony The 2009-10 United College Scholarship Presentation Ceremony was held on 10 November 2009 at 5:30 pm in the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Vice-Chairman of the College Board of Trustees was the officiating guest. Also gracing the Ceremony were various scholarship donors and trustees of the College. Over 500 people, including the award recipients and their parents, alumni, officers of the University and the College presented. A tea reception and dinner were hosted by the College after the Ceremony for the award recipients, their parents and the donors. |
