2) Membership Fees
2009-10 membership fee for United College Staff Association will be deducted from members' November 2009 salary. 2009至10年度聯合書院國際學術會議津貼計劃及訪問研究學人計劃

本院現已公開接受2009至10年度書院國際學術會議津貼計劃及訪問研究學人計劃第二輪申請，截止申請日期為2009年11月30日。申請結果將於12月底公布。

歡迎本院教員於本院網頁http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/eng/application_results/application_detail.php?id=732 下載計劃詳情及申請表格。成功獲資助的教員須於出席國際學術會議後或與訪問學人合作研究後向本院文化交流及研究委員會提交報告。

United College International Conference Grant Scheme and Resident Fellow Scheme 2009-10

The second round of application for the College International Conference Grant Scheme and Resident Fellow Scheme 2009-10 is now open for application. The closing date will be 30 November 2009. The outcome will be announced by late December.

Successful applicants are requested to submit a report to the Committee on Cultural Interchange and Research after attending the international conferences or research collaboration with the resident fellows.

2009至10年度學生校園培訓及服務獎勵計劃(第二輪撥款申請)

為協助同學獲得實際工作及研究經驗，書院設有一項「學生校園培訓及服務獎勵計劃」，鼓勵教職員任用同學作學生助手。目前的獎勵金額為每小時港幣五十元，服務範圍甚廣，並遍及各系及行政部門。

2009至10年度學生校園培訓及服務獎勵計劃第二輪撥款現正接受申請。書院學生輔導處已於11月5日寄發申請資料予本院教職員。如有查詢，請電2696 1947或2609 8657與書院學生輔導處溫嘉蕙女士或陳鄧翠怡女士聯絡。截止申請日期為11月19日，有關申請結果將於2009年12月中公布。
　
Student Campus Training and Service Award Scheme for 2009-10 (2nd Allocation Exercise)

The United College Student Campus Training and Service Award Scheme is set up to help students gain work and research experience. Under the Scheme, students are engaged as helpers to serve at various academic and administrative departments and units. At present, the hourly award rate is HK$50.

Applications are now invited for the second-round allocation of the UC Student Campus Training and Service Award Scheme for 2009-10. Application materials have been dispatched to College members on 5 November 2009.For further information, please contact Ms Wan Ka-wai or Mrs Eastre Chan of the Dean of Students' Office at 2696 1947 or 2609 8657.Completed application forms should be submitted on or before 19 November 2009.Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by mid December 2009.
　
聯合書院學術研討會贊助計劃

本院現已公開接受2009至10年度書院學術研討會贊助計劃申請，截止申請日期為2009年11月30日。本計劃旨於透過資助各學院及單位的書院教職員主辦學術研討會，提高教職員及學生學術科研交流，鼓勵推動院內學術研討的風氣。

United College Conference Sponsorship Scheme

United College Conference Sponsorship Scheme 2009-10 is now open for application. The closing date will be 30 November 2009.The main purpose of the Scheme is to promote academic exchange activities to students and staff by provision of financial support and sponsorship, so as to encourage colleagues of United College and the University to take initiative in planning and organising academic conferences.

書院成員為四川災區學生重建新校

本院成員建築學系朱競翔教授於本年9月率領研究小組為四川災區學生研發創新的輕型結構建築系統，在兩周內為學生重建新校。
　
College Member Reconstructed School in Earthquake Affected Area of Sichuan

College member, Professor Zhu Jingxiang, School of Architecture, led a research team to the Si Chuan earthquake affected area in September 2009 and successfully developed an integrated light-structure system for the reconstruction of the primary school within two weeks.

本院成員化學系講座教授謝作偉教授獲委任為理學院副院長(研究)，由2009年10月1日生效。

Concurrent Appointment

College Member, Professor Xie Zuowei, Department of Chemistry, has been concurrently appointed as Associate Dean(Research), Faculty of Science with effect from 1 October 2009.

書院院長馮國培教授於2009年11月3日設宴招待書院院務委員及院系聯絡人，共同商議如何加強對學生的關顧，合共四十位教職員出席。

Luncheon for Fellows and College Coordinators

Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, hosted a luncheon for fellows and college coordinators on 3 November 2009. More than forty College staff attended the function and discussed on ways to improve pastoral care to students.
