院長日話--院政及校政事務系列

由書院學生會、宿生會、走讀生舍堂及書院學生輔導處合辦的「院長日話」--院政及校政事務系列將於2009年11月16日(星期一)下午4時30分至6時假張祝珊師生康樂大樓203室學生休息室舉行。當天的主題包括書院獎學金、學生活動及宿舍生活等。大會並會安排小食招待出席的同學，敬請同學踴躍支持。
　
Head's Day Talk―College and University Affairs Series

Jointly organised by the College's Student Union, Hostel Residents' Associations, Non-residential Hall Associations and the Dean of Students' Office, the Head's Day Talk―College and University Affairs Series, will be held on Monday, 16 November 2009 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Room 203, Student Common Room, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building. Topics including scholarships, student activities and hostel life, etc. will be discussed. Light snacks will be served. All College students are cordially invited to the talk.
　
書院通識科目【實踐領導才】結業禮

由書院及香港童軍總會合辦的書院通識科目GEU2018【實踐領導才】，內容以理論為基礎，輔以大量實踐活動。除課堂之外，更安排兩日一夜的宿營活動，期間以分組形式完成導師委派的任務。本年度上學期課程於10月29日正式完結，書院及香港童軍總會於課堂後向學員派發證書，隨後嘉賓、導師及學員分享經驗及心得。結業禮出席嘉賓包括香港童軍總會署理總監李家山先生、助理策劃總監(項目)李月芬博士、院長馮國培教授、通識教育主任余濟美教授、通識教育副主任張雙慶教授、書院輔導長王香生教授及院務主任李雷寶玲女士等。此科目將於本年度下學期繼續開辦。如有查詢，請致電2696 1948與書院通識教育辦公室何景安先生聯絡。
　
Closing Ceremony for General Education Course "Leadership in Practice"

The College general education elective course, GEU2018 "Leadership in Practice", jointly organised by the College and the Scout Association of Hong Kong, was completed in the first semester of this year. The course focused on the theoretical foundations and supplemented with ample practical activities. In addition to classroom lectures, students joined a 2-day-1-night camp at which they formed teams to complete tasks assigned. This course ended on 29 October 2009, and a closing ceremony was held immediately after class. Certificates were presented to both instructors and students of the course by the Scout Association of Hong Kong, followed by a sharing session after the ceremony. Both instructors and students were satisfied with the course operation and learning experiences. Guests attending the closing ceremony included Mr K S Lee, Deputy Chief Commissioner; Dr Agnes Lee, Assistant Projects Commissioner (Projects); Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head; Professor Jimmy Yu, Dean of General Education; Professor Chang Song-hing, Associate Dean of General Education; Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students and Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary. 聯合書院第四十三屆陸運會

本年度陸運會已於2009年10月22日晚上舉行，書院六所舍堂合共四百二十多位同學參加比賽。現場各隊啦啦隊氣氛熱烈，院長馮國培教授、書院輔導長王香生教授、書院通識教育副主任張雙慶教授、院務主任李雷寶玲女士，以及各宿舍舍監及舍堂堂監等嘉賓親身到場打氣及頒獎。本屆陸運會的總成績詳見附件五。
　
United College 43rd Athletic Meet

The 2009-10 Athletic Meet was held successfully on 22 October 2009, with over 420 students representing the six hostels/non-residential halls joined the competitions. The cheerleading teams helped to raise the participants' excitement which was further fueled by the presence of guests including Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head; Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students; Professor Chang Song-hing, Associate Dean of General Education, Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary, and hostel/hall wardens, and their presentation of prizes to winners. The overall results are listed in Attachment 5.
　
聯合劇社參與中大四院劇賽

由四所成員書院贊助，邵逸夫堂及四院劇社合辦的中大四院劇賽將於2009年11月18及19日晚上7時30分假邵逸夫堂舉行。聯合書院劇社參賽劇目為《一路好走》，該劇將於11月18日晚上公演，敬希各聯合同仁踴躍出席，為聯合劇社打氣。

UC Drama Club in CUHK Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition

This year's CUHK Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition will be held on 18 and 19 November 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall.The competition, sponsored by the four Colleges, is co-organised by Sir Run Run Shaw Hall and College Drama Societies.The United College Drama Club entry " 一路好走", will be staged on 18 November. All College members are encouraged to support the Drama Club by attending the competition.

2009至10年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃

本年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃已於2009年10月展開，這項計劃由聯合書院與書院校友會合辦，旨在提供機會讓校友學長與在校同學互相交流和分享人生經驗。為使各參加者清楚了解此計劃的詳情，學長計劃統籌委員會於2009年10月14日及10月16日，分別舉行學長及學員簡佈會，而學長計劃十周年慶典暨第十屆迎新晚會則於2009年11月5日假九龍旺角帝京酒店舉行。當日出席的嘉賓包括聯合書院校董會主席暨學長計劃贊助人岑才生先生、聯合書院校友會永遠榮譽會長張煊昌博士、聯合書院校友會會長殷巧兒女士、聯合書院院長馮國培教授與及二百多位歷屆及本屆的學長學員，場面十分熱鬧。主禮嘉賓主持切餅及放花炮儀式，歷屆學長學員並分享參與計劃的感受，令晚會更添色彩。
　
UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme 2009-10

The UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme 2009-10, jointly organised by the United College and the UC Alumni Association, has launched in October 2009. This Programme aims to create close supportive mentoring relationships between alumni of United College and its undergraduates. In order to enable all participants to have a better understanding of the objectives and activities of the Programme, the Programme Coordinating Committee organised two briefing sessions for the mentors and mentees on 14 October and 16 October. The 10th Anniversary cum Inauguration Dinner was held on 5 November 2009 at Royal Plaza Hotel. Mr Shum Choi-sang, Chairman of the United College Board of Trustees and donor of the Programme, Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Permanent Emeritus President of the United College Alumni Association, Ms Lina Yan, President of the United College Alumni Association, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, Head of United College, and over two hundred former and current mentors and mentees attended the ceremony. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary, cake-cutting ceremony, confetti shower and sharing by former mentors and mentees were carried out.
