UC Alumna Won Three Gold Medals in the 5th East Asian Games
2009 UC alumna, Ms Chiu Wing-yin Rebecca (00/SPE) won three gold medals in Squash (Single Women, Double Women and Team Women) in the 5th East Asian Games. Ms Chiu is Hong Kong's top squash player with a highest world ranking of 13th. Our heartfelt congratulations to Ms Chiu! |

United College Team Won the 1st Runner Up in CUHK Golf Day Four College alumni, Dr Y S Cheung (74/MAT), Mr Ip Koon-tung Patrick (86/FIN), Mr Kevin Y W Lam (91/GPA) and Mr Simpson Fan (94/BIO) represented United College and won the 1st Runner Up of CU Cup in the CUHK Golf Day on 14 October 2009. Community Services 1) College alumnus, Mr Wong Lai-wing(85/GPA), has been appointed by the Chief Executive as the magistrate, with effect from 1 December 2009. 2) College alumna, Ms Kao Ching-chi Sophia (70/BBA), has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) for three years, with effect from 1 December 2009. |

尋根之旅 聯合書院及聯合書院校友會於2009年11月21日(星期六)下午合辦一項名為尋根之旅的活動，超過四十五名聯合校友一同參觀聯合書院兩個早期的舊校址，包括聯合書院1962年5月至1971年12月的校舍（現址為般咸道官立小學）、聯合書院1964年9月至1972年4月的理學院舊址（現址為香港醫學博物館），一起重温「聯合」舊日的風貌，更於當年深受聯合校友歡迎的莎厘娜餐廳共晉下午茶。當日，聯合書院校董暨書院通識教育副主任張雙慶教授(70/中文)及聯合書院院務主任李雷寶玲女士擔任榮譽領隊。校友重返當年聯合書院的舊校址，均感到非常興奮。 |

Visit to United College Old Campuses United College and United College Alumni Association jointly organised a visit on Saturday, 21 November 2009. More than 45 College alumni visited two old campuses of United College in May 1962–December 1971 and September 1964–April 1972, currently Bonham Road Government Primary School and Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences respectively. Participants finally enjoyed a tea at the Czarina Restaurant, which was the ever popular dining place at their times. Professor Chang Song-hing, College Trustee and Associate Dean of General Education (70/CHI) and Mrs Christina Li, College Secretary, were the honorary leaders of this visit. All alumni were excited to visit these old campuses of United College. |

2009年中大校友日暨院長晚宴 2009年中大校友日已於2009年12月13日(星期日)舉行，當日聯合書院校友會於大學本部百萬大道設有兒童遊戲攤位，與眾同樂，更奪得「我最喜愛的攤位」大獎。聯合書院亦為校友安排暢遊校友徑活動，聯合書院院長馮國培教授於書院學生飯堂設晚宴招待聯合書院校友及家人，馮院長及聯合書院校友會會長殷巧兒女士於晚宴上致歡迎辭。當晚逾二百五十位校友及家人一同參與，共度一個歡愉的晚上。 |

2009 CUHK Alumni Homecoming cum Head's Dinner The 2009 CUHK Alumni Homecoming was held on Sunday,13 December 2009. The United College Alumni Association set up a game booth to promote the association at the University Mall and won the Favorite Booth Award. Furthermore, the College arranged Alumni Trail Tour for participants in the afternoon, while Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, hosted a dinner for all United College alumni and family members at United College Student Canteen. Professor Fung and Ms Lina H Y Yan, President of United College Alumni Association, delivered welcoming addresses to alumni. Over 250 alumni and their family members participated in this dinner gathering and had an enjoyable evening on United College campus. |

College Alumnus Awarded The Hong Kong Asian Capital Markets
Research Prize of 2009 College Alumnus, Professor Stephen Y L Cheung (82/MAT), Dean of School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University, was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Asian Capital Markets Research Prize of 2009 for his research project "Transparency Index and Company Valuation: Evidence from Hong Kong" with co-authors.
