本院成員新聞與傳播學院馮應謙教授獲研究資助局批出2009至2010年度「策略性公共政策研究金」港幣三百五十萬元，支持研究項目「香港遊戲工業：文化政策、創意群聚與亞洲市場」。

College Member Received the Strategic Public Policy Research Funding

College member, Professor Anthony Y H Fung, School of Journalism and Communication, received the Strategic Public Policy Research funding 2009-2010 of HK$3,500,000 from the Research Grants Council to support his research project titled "Mapping Hong Kong Game Industries: Cultural Policy, Creative Cluster and Asian Market".

1) College member, Professor Chan Kai-ming, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, was appointed (by courtesy) as Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences with effect from 2 October 2009.

2) College member, Professor Shen Pei, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, was appointed (by courtesy) as Research Fellow, Research Centre for Chinese Ancient Texts, Institute of Chinese Studies with effect from 31 December 2009.

本院成員系統工程及工程管理學系蒙美玲教授獲中國教育部頒發2009年度高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎。蒙教授憑研究項目「多模態的多種語音、語言交互的研究與應用」獲得科技進步獎。

College Member Received the MoE Research Award

College member, Professor Meng Mei-ling, Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, received the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards 2009 by the Ministry of Education of China (MoE). Professor Meng was awarded the Technology Progress Award for "Multimodal User Interactions with Multilingual Speech and Language Technologies - Research and Applications."

2) Lunar New Year's Eve Luncheon for Junior Staff

The College and the Staff Association will jointly organise a Lunar New Year's Eve Luncheon for the junior staff of the College on Wednesday, 3 February 2010 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. Junior staff of the College will be invited to the luncheon and each presented with a red packet and a gift. Members of the College are welcome to attend the luncheon and sponsor the purchase of gifts. The fee for the luncheon is $100 per person. For registration, please contact Ms Vivian W T Lam of Dean of Students' Office at 2696 1750.

3) Year 2010 Desk Calendar

The Staff Association's year 2010 desk calendar refills are available for members' collection from the College Dean of Students' Office, 2/F, Tsang Shiu Tim Building on a first-come-first-served basis.

書院成員成功研究雙心室起博療法

本院成員醫學院講座教授余卓文教授於2005至2009年間進行了一項有關雙心室起博療法的臨床研究，研究顯示該療法能有效防止右心室療法所帶來的不良效果。該項研究為全球首項同類型的研究，美國心臟協會於2009年11月在奧蘭多舉辦的周年科學會議上發布。有關成果亦已刊載於同月出版的《新英格蘭醫學雜誌》。

College Member Conducted a Successful Study on Novel Biventricular Pacing

College member, Professor Yu Cheuk-man, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, conducted a clinical trial from 2005 to 2009 to test whether the novel biventricular pacing can avoid the adverse effect of right ventricular pacing. The clinical trial is the first of its kind in the world, the study was recently announced in the American Heart Association Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando USA in November 2009 and published in the November issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

本院陳震夏宿舍工友韓開麗女士榮獲香港中文大學2008至09年度員工優異服務獎，頒獎典禮已於2010年1月15日假西部綜合教學大樓一樓六號講廳舉行。

College Member Won the Exemplary Service Award 2008-09

Ms Hon Hoi-lai, junior staff of Chan Chun Ha Hostel, was awarded the Exemplary Service Award 2008-09. The Presentation Ceremony was held on 15 January 2010 at Lecture Theatre 6, 1/F, Teaching Complex at Western Campus.
