書院校董會第六十八次會議已於2010年12月9日（星期四）下午六時正假香港銅鑼灣世貿中心三十八樓香港世界貿易中心會雲霄閣舉行，並於會後舉行校董周年聚餐。

是次會議通過委任譚華正博士、何耀棣博士及余志明先生為新校董，任期兩年，由2011年1月1日生效。又於晚宴席上頒發書院長期服務獎予服務書院超過二十年的教職員。今年獲奬的同事包括：

News from the College Board of Trustees

The 68th Meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, 9 December 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Mandarin’s Suite, World Trade Centre Club Hong Kong, 38/F, World Trade Centre, 280 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The Annual Dinner for the Board of Trustees was held immediately after the meeting.

In the meeting, Dr Tam Wah-ching, Dr Gallant Y T Ho and Mr Gabriel C M Yu were elected Trustee of the Board for a term of two years from 1 January 2011. United College Long Service Awards (for staff with over 20 years of service) were presented at the dinner. Award recipients are listed as follows:

聯合書院桂冠學人高錕教授於2010年11月20日獲行政長官曾蔭權先生在香港禮賓府舉行的2010年度授勳典禮頒授大紫荊勳章。

Professor Charles K Kao Received the Grand Bauhinia Medal

Professor Charles K Kao, United College Distinguished Laureate, was presented the Grand Bauhinia Medal by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang at the annual ceremony at Government House on 20 November 2010.

2009-2010 Graduation Ceremony

 

The 2009-10 UC Graduation Ceremony will be held on Thursday, 16 December 2010 at 12:30pm at the University’s Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Professor Stephen Y L Cheung (82/MAT), Dean of the School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University, and Ms Lina H Y Yan (69/ENG), President of the Alumni Association of United College, will be the officiating guests of the Ceremony. 聯合書院五十五周年院慶

踏入2011年，聯合書院將慶祝五十五周年院慶，並舉辦一連串的慶祝活動，請密切留意日後公佈。

為應付2012因教育改革而推行的「三三四學制」，而同時收錄中六及中七入學的兩批學生，聯合書院於2012年及其後數年須相應增加資源，以配合各項獎助學金及學生活動。書院將藉著五十五周年院慶推行籌款活動，並由2011年1月1日至2012年7月30日期間，凡捐贈港幣一萬元或以上者，將鐫名於日後建於聯合書院校園的銘謝牌匾上。
　

United College 55th Anniversary

Entering 2011, United College will celebrate its 55th Anniversary. The College will organise a series of celebration and activities. Details will be announced in due course.

With the implementation of the 3-3-4 academic reform, United College will be admitting a double cohort of students in 2012. A fundraising campaign will be launched with the College’s 55th Anniversary celebrations, so as to meet the various needs and challenges ahead arising from the increased student numbers in 2012-15. The College will establish a donations commemorative plaque on the College campus in recognition of the generous support of donors for donations of HK$10,000 or above received during the 55th anniversary celebration period (i.e. 1 January 2011 to 31 July 2012).

1)本院校董方文雄先生及校友杜子瑩女士（76/政政）獲政府委任為社會福利諮詢委員會委員，任期兩年，由2010年12月1日生效。

2)本院校友莊偉茵女士（86/政政）獲政府委任為醫院管理局成員，任期兩年，由2010年12月1日生效。

　

　

Community Services

1)trustee, Mr David M H Fong and College alumna, Ms Theresa C Y Tao (76/GPA) have been appointed by the Government as members of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee for a period of two years, with effect from 1 December 2010.

2)alumna, Ms Quincy W Y Chong (86/GPA), has been appointed by the Government as member to the Hospital Authority for a period of two years, with effect from 1 December 2010.
　
2010至2011年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃迎新晚會

本年度聯合書院岑才生學長計劃已於學期初順利展開，這項計劃是由聯合書院與書院校友會合辦，旨在提供機會讓校友學長與在校同學互相交流和分享人生經驗。為使各參加者更清楚了解此計劃的詳情，統籌委員會於2010年10月14日及10月28日分別為學員和學長安排簡介會，並於11月4日假尖沙咀富豪九龍酒店舉行迎新晚會。當晚出席的嘉賓、校友和同學逾二百三十人，包括聯合書院校董會主席暨學長計劃贊助人岑才生先生、書院校友會永遠榮譽會長張煊昌博士、書院院長馮國培教授、學長計劃統籌委員會召集人殷巧兒女士及王香生教授，場面十分熱鬧。
　
Inauguration Dinner for the United College Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme 2010-2011

The UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme is jointly organized by United College and the UC Alumni Association. It aims to foster friendship, cohesion and a sense of belonging among past and present students of United College. This year, in order to enable all participants to have a better understanding of the programme objectives, the Coordinating Committeetwo briefing sessions on 14 and 28 October 2010, respectively for mentees and mentors.An inauguration dinner was held on 4 November 2010 at the Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Mr Shum Choi-sang, Chairman of the United College Board of Trustees and donor of the Mentorship Programme, Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Permanent Emeritus President of the UC Alumni Association, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, Head of United College, Ms Lina H Y Yan and Professor Stephen H S Wong, Convenors of the Mentorship Programme Coordinating Committee as well as over 230 guests, alumni and students were there to share the fun andgrand time was had by all.

山東大學訪問聯合書院

山東大學學生工作處處長曲明軍教授率領的訪問團於2010年11月10日到訪本院，由通識教育主任余濟美教授及助理院務主任李珮珊女士接待。
　
Shandong University Visited United College  

The delegation of Shandong University, led by their Director of Student Affairs Office, Professor Qu Mingjun, visited United College on 10 November 2010. Professor Jimmy C M Yu, Dean of General Education, and Ms Sandy Lee, Assistant College Secretary, received the delegation.
