2010-2011聯合書院校外住宿助學金申請

 

校外住宿助學金旨在提供校外住宿資助予有經濟困難，而又未能成功申請在校內住宿的聯合書院同學，在港鐡東鐡沿綫租住較現行家庭住址宅更接近大學校園的地方，以鼓勵同學積極參與校園書院活動，並爭取學習時間，以提升學業成績。

 

申請資格及資助形式

- 本計劃只接受2010-11年度聯合書院校內住宿申請候補名單上的同學提出申請，即2010-11年度內未能成功申請在校內住宿的聯合書院同學。

- 2010-11年度的助學金每個金額為一千三百元正，申請人全年上、下學期最多可獲資助兩個獎額。($1,300x2=$2,600)

 

*此計劃並不影響同學輪候或上訴申請校內宿舍機會。

 

申請日期:全年公開接受申請。

2010-2011 New Financial Assistance Scheme

 

Application for 2010-11 United College Off-campus Residence Grant

This Grant Scheme provides financial support to needy students who have not been assigned a residential place on the University campus, to rent a place off-campus temporarily, along the Mass Transit Railway System (East Rail Line). The rented place should be closer to the University compared with the family residence, to facilitate the applicant to participate in College life, for advancement in academic performance and for better participation in various activities on campus.

 

Application and Grant Amount

- United College students on the waiting list of hostel residence   application of 2010-11 are welcome to apply. (i.e. those who have not been assigned a residential place on the University campus.)

- The amount of each grant for 2010-11 will be HK$1,300. For each applicant, a maximum of two grants may be allocated for the 1st Term and 2nd Term of the academic year.   (i.e. HK$1,300 x 2 =HK$2,600)

 

*This application will not affect the chance of waiting or appealing for a hostel place.

 

Application Period: all year round.

思源文娛中心消息——調製雞尾酒工作坊

聯合書院思源文娛中心會所管理委員會於2010年11月18日舉辦調製雞尾酒工作坊，約三十名同學出席。

About 30 students attended a workshop on Cocktail Blending and Tasting oranised by the United College Si Yuan Amenities Centre Club Management on 18 November 2010.

　

聯合書院內地一年級新同學(2010)晚宴

　

聯合書院專為內地一年級新同學而設的晚宴於2010年11月11日晚上假書院文怡閣舉行，超過三十名一年級內地生出席。晚宴間，高年級的內地生與新同學分享書院生活的經驗。
　
Dinner for Non-local Students (2010 Entry)

Over 30 non-local students attended a dinner organised by the College specially for the year one non-local undergraduate students on 11 November 2010 at the Staff Common Room.  During the dinner, non-local students from senior years shared their College experiences with the new students.


　

考試期間送贈生果 

書院學生飯堂於考試期間(12月8日至23日)晚巿時段，送贈新鮮生果給書院同學，為同學打氣，費用悉數由書院資助。　
Fresh Fruit for UC Students 

 

Sponsored by the College, the College Student Canteen will supply free fresh fruit to the College students during the examination period from 8 to 23 December 2010 in the evening time.

獲書院資助，思源館於考試期間提供特別優惠予所有同學，滋潤糖水及每日精選茶餐只售六元及十二元。

　
　
Special Promotion of Si Yuan Amenities Centre During Examination Period

Supported by the College, Si Yuan Amenities Centre is now offering a special promotion to all students during examination period, daily sweet soup and selected tea sets are available at HK$6 and HK$12 only. 
　

語文改善計劃——2011年春季課程 
「語文改善計劃」春季課程將於2011年1月10日至19日接受同學報名。同學除可報讀普通話及英語課程外，亦可報名參加將於2011年暑期舉行的「外地文化及語文研習課程」及「語文學習營」。章程及報名表格可於2011年1月10日起於書院網站瀏覽或於書院學生輔導處索取。

The Language Improvement Project-Spring Programmes 2011

Applications for the Spring courses of the College's 2011 Language Improvement Project (LIP) will open from 10 to 19 January 2011. Apart from the local Putonghua and English courses, non-local Culture and Language Programmes and language immersion camps will also be organised in Summer 2010. Interested students may browse the details on College’s website or collect the programme booklets and application forms from the Dean of Students' Office from 10 January 2010.

2010年1月至12月的學生團體活動津貼撥款支銷日期為2011年1月10日至14日, 各院系屬會務請於指定日期內依據報銷程序支銷撥款,逾期作放棄論。

All clubs and societies affiliated to United College Student Union are reminded to apply, between 10 and14 January 2011, for reimbursement of student activity expenses incurred from January to December of 2010.  Late applications will not be entertained.

伯利衡宿舍三十二周年「伯人宴」

　

為慶祝伯利衡宿舍成立三十二周年，伯宿宿生會於2010年11月12日晚上在伯宿對出的石地舉行「伯人宴」，邀請歷屆宿生回校共敘，晚會的主題是「伯花齊放，伯鳥歸巢」。當晚除了有前任伯利衡宿舍舍監李丹教授到賀外，亦有宿生、舍監、宿舍住校導師、工友、校友及書院同仁等逾一百五十人出席，場面既溫馨又熱鬧。　

Bethlehem Hall 32nd Anniversary Dinner

　

To celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Bethlehem Hall, the Bethlehem Hall Residents Association organised a reunion dinner for their fellow students and alumni on 12 November 2010 in the open space outside the Hall. Professor Lee Tan, former Warden of Bethlehem Hall and over 150 participants including residents, warden, tutors, hostel staff, alumni and officers of the College were there to share the fun.

　

書院聚會——戲劇表演


2010年11月26日黃昏，聯合書院假思源廣場舉行書院聚會，由聯合書院劇社表演話劇《尋找第八秒》。劇社同學讓坐滿全場的二百多位聯合同學欣賞他們在本年度中大四院劇賽中，獲得五個獎項的劇目。同學們投入欣賞，表演在觀眾的熱烈掌聲中完結，並由院長馮國培教授及輔導長王香生教授致送紀念品予劇社全體同學。　

　
College Assembly - Drama Performance


The College Assembly - Drama Performance was held in the evening of 26 November 2010 at Si Yuan Amphitheatre. The United College Drama Club performed the drama “In search of the eighth second”.  A full house of more than two hundred United College students enjoyed the performance which won five awards in the Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition of this year. The performance was welcomed by the audience and ended in their clapping.  A souvenir was presented to the Drama Club by Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, and Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students at the end of the performance.
　
學生宿舍消息


本院學生宿舍將於2010年12月30日(星期四)中午12時至2011年1月3日(星期一) 中午12時暫停開放，以便進行半年一度的清潔工作。為方便工作，請各宿生於12月30日(星期四)中午12時前離開宿舍，並避免放置物品於地上。非本地生如需於關閉期間繼續留宿，請於12月15日(星期三)前以書面通知舍監。只獲配上學期宿位的同學，請於本年12月30日(星期四)中午12時前到宿舍接待處辦理退宿手續。
　
Student Hostel News


All UC student hostels will be closed from 12:00 noon on Thursday, 30 December 2010 to 12:00 noon on Monday, 3 January 2011 for the half-yearly cleaning operations.  Residents are requested to leave the hostels during this period and not to put their personal belongings on the floor.  Non-local students who wish to stay on during the said period must notify their respective wardens in writing before Wednesday, 15 December 2010.  Students eligible for first term residence should check-out of the hostels before 12:00 noon on Thursday, 30 December 2010.

本院同學勝出上海舉行的十六屆全國大學生擊劍錦標賽
 

中大首次派出六人劍擊女子隊參加10月31日至11月5日在上海舉行的十六屆全國大學生擊劍錦標賽，即獲獎而回。是次參賽的三百零八名選手來自二十八間院校，本院風險管理科學課程二年級蘇燕婷同學擊敗一眾對手，榮膺甲組女子個人花劍冠軍，並連同本院翻譯系四年級錢凱妍同學及另一名隊友取得女子丙組際花劍銅牌。

　
　
College Students Won in the 16th All China University Fencing Championship
　

The 16th All China University Fencing Championship was held in Shanghai from 31 October to 5 November. This year, the CUHK female fencing team made its debut in the competition and captured the champion title. From among some 300 fencers from 28 tertiary institutions, College student, Miss Sue Y T So, Year 2, Risk Management Science Programme, emerged the champion in Ladies Individual Foil (Division A). She also won a bronze medal in Ladies Foil Team (Division C) together with another college student, Miss Queena H Y Chin, Year 4, Department of Translation, and another teammate.

本年度的中大四院劇賽已於11月17日及18日假邵逸夫堂舉行，聯合劇社於11月18日晚演出《尋找第八秒》，結果憑此劇獲得下列五個獎項：

Drama Club Won Five Awards in the Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition
The Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition of this year had been held on 17 and 18 November 2010 at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall.  The United College Drama Club won five awards with the entry “In search of the eighth second” staged on 18 November as follows:

聯合書院校友講座

　

為增進同學與校友間的聯繫，由2005年起，書院與書院校友會合辦一系列的「聯合書院校友講座」，邀請在社會上各行各業有卓越成就的校友與在校的師弟師妹們分享他們在事業上、人生旅途上的各種經歷與體會。校友講座以高桌晚宴形式舉行，讓聯合同學在輕鬆的環境下與主講校友嘉賓交流認識。

　

校友講座的第十講已於2010年11月17日晚上假聯合書院張祝珊師生康樂大樓三樓文怡閣舉行，書院邀請得1989年市場學系校友，遵理學校創辦人伍經衡校友擔任主講嘉賓，以「從低做起」為講題，與聯合同學分享他的心得。

　

United College Alumni Talk 

From 2005, the College and the Alumni Association have jointly organised a series of alumni talks for students. Distinguished alumni from all walks of life are invited to share with fellow students on their career and life experiences. The Alumni Talk is organised in the format of high table dinner, providing students and alumni a relaxing atmosphere for learning and communication.

The tenth Alumni Talk was held on 17 November 2010 at the Staff Common Room, 3/F, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building, United College. The College invited Mr Richard Eng, Co-founder of Beacon College, to share with UC students on the topic of "Work From the Bottom". Mr Eng is a 1989 United College alumnus who majored in Marketing.

聯合書院六舍堂領袖訓練計劃
　

聯合書院與香港童軍總會合辦之六舍堂領袖訓練計劃已於2010年11月20日假西貢香港童軍總會王兆生領袖訓練學院順利舉行。當日共有六十五位候任宿生會及走讀生舍堂幹事參加，導師們透過短講及歷奇訓練，提高各幹事會的團隊合作精神、與人相處的技巧、認識財務及時間管理，以平衡個人學習和服務社群的需要。 

Leadership Training Programme for UC Residential and Non-residential Hall Associations

United College and the Scout Association of Hong Kong have joined forces to organise a leadership training programme for new cabinet members of the residential and non-residential halls. Its objective is to better prepare the office-bearers for their tasks as responsible student leaders and help strike a balance between study and service in the university. The workshop was held on 20 November 2010 at the Scout Association of Hong Kong Wong Siu Sang Leadership Training Institute, Sai Kung. A total of 65 students attended; they received training on team-work building, on how to improve social skills as well as financial and time management.
