The last round of application for the College International Conference Grant Scheme and Resident Fellow Scheme 2010-2011 is now open for application. The closing date will be 31 March 2011. The outcome will be announced by late April. 教職員太極及健身氣功班(陳式太極及八段錦氣功) |

為提倡健康生活及提高本院教職員重視健康的意識，書院健康促進小組與書院生活委員會及書院教職員聯誼會 將合辦太極班，學員可學習陳式太極拳及健身氣功以強身健體，歡迎各位踴躍參加。太極班詳情如下： 日期： 2011年3月15日至6月14日；逢星期二，共 十二堂 （4月5日及5月10日分別是清明節及佛誕公眾假期，無須上課） 時間： 下午5時40分至7時10分 地點： 張祝珊師生康樂大樓三樓文怡閣 導師： 徐一杰先生（國家一級武術教練及全國武術太極錦標賽冠軍） 名額： 12人（先到先得） 費用： 港幣1400元 〈於第一堂繳交。每位參與同事可獲書院健康促進小組資助港幣100元，故1400元為資助後費用。） 截止報名日期：2011年3月10日 查詢請致電2696 1697或電郵tedleung@cuhk.edu.hk與梁應得先生聯絡。 |

Staff Taichi and Qigong Course (Chen-style Taichi and Baduanjin Qigong)

To promote healthy living and raise the health awareness of United College staff members, the United College Task Force on Health Promotion, College Life Committee and United College Staff Association are co-organising a Taichi Course. Participants can learn Chen-style Taichi and Qigong techniques to improve their health. All UC staff members are welcome to join. Details of the course are as follows: Date: Every Tuesday from 15 March to 14 June 2011; a total of 12 lessons (Except the public holidays of Ching Ming Festival and The Buddha’s Birthday on 5 April and 10 May respectively) Time: 5:40pm to 7:10pm Venue: Staff Common Room, 3/F, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building Instructor: Mr Xu Yi-jie (Martial arts instructor at the national level; Wushu and Tai Chi National Championships) Quota: 12 persons (first-come first-served) Fee: HK$1400 (Payment should be settled in the first lesson. A subsidy of HK$100 by the United College Task Force on Health Promotion will be granted to each participant and HK$1,400 is the course fee after sponsorship.) Tribute to Professor and
Mrs Charles Kao, United College Distinguished
Laureate: Welcoming Dinner |
The Welcoming Dinner for Professor and Mrs Charles K Kao was held on Friday, 25 February 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Staff Common Room, 3/F, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building on United College campus. More than 50 College trustees, staff and alumni attended the dinner. The College also released the recent publication, United We Advance Issue 8 featuring A Tribute to Professor and Mrs Charles K Kao at the dinner. Professor and Mrs Charles K Kao, presented a portrait of Professor Kao drawn by renowned artist, Mr Dai Kai-chee to the College.
「聯合苑」落成卅五周年慶祝會 |
聯合書院教職員宿舍「聯合苑」自1925年2月落成入伙，轉瞬間已卅五年。適逢今年亦為聯合書院五十五周年紀念，為誌其盛，書院教職員宿舍管理委員會於2011年2月26日（星期六）上午舉行慶祝會，並邀請了現居於該處或曾入住於該處的同仁攜同家眷出席參加。當日節目包括聯合書院國術會的醒獅表演及由書院及住客預備的美食分享，與眾同樂，大家一起把手「話當年」，約七十人參加。

健康聯合人系列——健康講座 |

Health Series - Health Talk |
Co-organised by the Task Force on Health Promotion and College Life Committee, a Health Talk titled Key To Successful Weight Management delivered by Ms Sylvia S M Lam, Senior Registered Dietitian of Qualigenics Medical Limited, will be held on 24 March 2011 at Staff Common Room. Ms Lam will explain the reasons for overweight and will provide useful tips on weight management from the perspective of nutrition. 訪問研究學人計劃 |
訪問研究學人浙江大學外國語言文化與國際交流學院龐繼賢教授於2011年1月1日至2月28日期間蒞院訪問，與本院課程與教學學系麥陳淑賢教授進行學術研究。 訪問研究學人紹興文理學院王建華教授於2011年1月20日至2011年4月19日期間蒞院訪問，與本院中國語言及文學系張雙慶教授進行學術研究。
Resident Fellow Scheme |
Professor Pang Jixian, the School of International Studies, Zhejiang University, visited the College as resident fellow from 1 January to 28 February 2011and conducted research with Professor Barley Mak, Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Professor Wang Jianhua, the University of Shaoxing, visited the College as resident fellow from 20 January to 19 April 2011 and conducted research with Professor Chang Song-hing, Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
健康聯合人系列——預防性健康檢查推廣計劃 |
書院將舉辦預防性健康檢查推廣計劃，健康檢查的承辦商將提供特價之健康檢查組合予書院同事及其配偶。為了更方便同事使用服務，承辦商更將於2011年3月18日前來聯合書院為同事收取化驗樣本。書院更會以先到先得的方式贊助港幣一百元予聯合書院同事，以鼓勵同事採取主動，作預防性的健康檢查。
Health Series - Preventive Health
Check-up Incentive Scheme |
The College will launch a Preventive Health Check-up Incentive Scheme for College members and spouse, with special offers provided by the health check-up vendors. On-campus specimen collection will be conducted on 18 March 2011 to allow more convenience to staff. The College will also provide a sponsorship of $100 for each United College staff who pre-registered for this service on first-come-first-served basis as an incentive for the preventive health check-up. |
