健康聯合人系列—— 健康講座


由健康促進小組及書院生活委員會合辦的健康講座系列第一講已於2011年3月24日假文怡閣舉行。講題為「體重控制的成功要訣」，主講嘉賓確進糖尿專科中心高級註冊營養師林思為女士從營養的角度出發，解釋過重的成因及提供體重管理的方法。當日有超過五十名教職員參與，參加者均認為講座內容豐富實用，並且獲益良多。

講座系列第二講亦將於2011年4月28日假文怡閣舉行場健康講座，講題為「糖尿病及心血管病的護理計劃」，是次講座將由確進醫療中心內分泌及糖尿科專科醫生唐俊業醫生擔任嘉賓。

Health Series - Health Talk Series


Co-organised by College Task Force on Health Promotion and College Life Committee, the first health talk was held on 24 March 2011 at the Staff Common Room. The health talk titled "Key To Successful Weight Management" was delivered by the guest speaker, Ms Sylvia S W Lam, Senior Registered Dietitian of Qualigenics Medical Limited. During the talk, Ms Lam explained the reasons for overweight and provided useful tips on weight management from the perspective of nutrition. The talk was well received by more than 50 staff. Also, most participants found the presented information abundant and useful.

The second Health Talk titled Management of Diabetes and the Cardiovascular Burden by Dr Peter C Y Tong, Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, Qualigenics Diabetes Centre, will also be held on 28 April 2011 at the Staff Common Room.

健康聯合人系列——預防性健康檢查推廣計劃


 書院舉辦預防性健康檢查推廣計劃，健康檢查的承辦商提供特價之健康檢查組合予書院同事及其配偶。為了更方便同事使用服務，承辦商更於2011年3月18日前來聯合書院為同事收取化驗樣本。為鼓勵同事積極參與，書院更以先到先得的方式贊助港幣一百元予聯合書院同事。共四十七名教職員參加此推廣計劃，參加者其後會陸續收到個人健康報告。

Health Series - Preventive Health Check-up Incentive Scheme


The College launched a Preventive Health Check-up Incentive Scheme for College members and spouse, with special offers provided by the health check-up vendors. On-campus specimen collection were conducted on 18 March 2011 to allow more
convenience to staff. The College also provided a sponsorship of $100 for each United College staff who pre-registered for this service on first-come-first-served basis as an incentive for the preventive health check-up. A total of 47 staff joined the scheme and are going to receive their own health check-up reports.

本院成員奪國家科研獎

本院成員數學系魏軍城教授之研究項目「非線性橢圓方程及方程組的凝聚現象」榮獲國家教育部2010年度高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎（科學技術）一等獎，另本院成員生物醫學學院黃聿教授與中大生命科學學院陳振宇教授合作研究之項目「天然產物對膽固醇和脂肪酸代謝與心血管功能的影響」亦榮獲二等獎。

College Members Received National Scientific Research Awards (Science and Technology)


College member, Professor Wei Juncheng, Department of Mathematics received first class award of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards (Science and Technology) 2010 from the Ministry of Education with his project titled "Concentration Phenomena in Nonlinear Elliptic Equations and Systems". Also, College member, Professor Huang Yu, School of Biomedical Sciences, with member of another College, Professor Chen Zhenyu, School of life Science, received a second class award with their project titled "Cholesterol-lowering and Cardiovascular Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals".

招募2011-2012年度聯合書院學生宿舍住校導師義工

聯合書院現正邀請有興趣參與非形式教育活動及宿舍生活的教職員申請2011-2012年度學生宿舍住校導師一職。
宿舍導師純為義務性質，其服務並不構成全職或兼職僱傭合約或「同期委任」。 宿舍導師不會有任何津貼或酬勞，亦不會享有任何僱員福利。宿舍導師將獲分配免費入住聯合書院其中一間學生宿舍的單人房。宿舍導師的任期為一年，由2011年8月開始。

申請表格可往聯合書院曾肇添樓一樓學生輔導處索取或在書院網頁http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/cht/hostel/news.php下載。填妥之申請表須於2011年5月3日或以前交回聯合書院學生輔導處。
Enlistment of Volunteers to serve as Resident Tutors for United College Student Hostels 2011-2012

United College is now inviting volunteers from University staff and postgraduate students, who are interested in the promotion of experiential learning amongst students and the enrichment of hostel life, to serve as Resident Tutors for the academic year 2011-2012.

Volunteers are nominated as Resident Tutors. This is not an employment either on a full-time or part-time basis, and is not regarded as a concurrent employment with the University. There will not be any allowance/remuneration or any other employee benefits for provision of this volunteer service. The nominated Resident Tutor will be provided with a free single room in one of the United College student hostels. The nomination will last for one year and will start in August 2011, subject to mutual agreement.

Application forms can be obtained from the Dean of Students' Office, 1/F., Tsang Shiu Tim Building, United College or downloaded from the College website http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/eng/hostel/news.php. Completed application forms should be returned to the same office on or before 3 May 2011.
