訃告

聯合書院資深校董兼聯合書院校友會副會長張景文牧師於2011年7月11日辭世，喪禮於7月15日在北角香港殯儀館舉行，本院同仁深表哀悼。

張牧師自1972年擔任聯合書院校友會理事會副主席，並於1976年加入聯合書院校董會，為聯合書院及聯合書院校友會的發展，勞心勞力，扶掖不斷，愛護有嘉，建樹良多。本院同仁永遠銘感張牧師對本港高等教育的成就與貢獻，並謹向張牧師家人致以最深切的慰問。


Obituary

United College records with deep sadness the passing away of our Trustee, The Rev Cheung King Man on 11 July 2011. His funeral service was held on 15 July at the Hong Kong Funeral Home, North Point.

The Rev Cheung served as Vice-chairman of the Council, Alumni Association of United College since 1972 and then was appointed as Member of College Trustee since 1976. He gave invaluable advice and guidance to United College and the Alumni Association of United College over the years and made distinguished contributions. His significant accomplishments to the development of the tertiary education in Hong Kong will be forever cherished. Our deepest condolences to The Rev Cheung King Man’s family.

In the Honour List announced on 1 July 2011, College trustee and alumni were awarded honours by the HKSAR Government.

- College alumni, Mrs Ava Ng (74/GEO), Mr Eddie H K Ng (76/SWK) and Mr Peh Yun-lu (77/ BCH), were awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star.
- College alumnus, Mr David K S Ng (85/SOC), was awarded the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
- College trustee, Mr David M H Fong, was awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star.
- College tutor, Dr Ben Y F Fong and College alumni, Mr Lee Wang-tsi (60/BBA), Mr Barry M S Wong (88/SWK) and Mr Nelson S H Yip (91/STA), were awarded Medal of Honour.
- College alumna, Ms Pamela N M Lam (94/BBA), was awarded Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Service.
- College alumni, Mr Wong Ping-fai (82/ELE), Dr Leung Mei-fun (87/GPA), Mr Chang Wai-yuen (87/GPA), Dr Ben K L Cheung (88/MED) and Ms Rosanna S P Law (89/GPA), were appointed as Justice of the Peace.

聯合書院五十五周年籌款

聯合書院為慶祝五十五周年院慶，將舉辦一連串的慶祝活動。

為應付2012因教育改革而推行的「三三四學制」，而同時收錄中六及中七入學的兩批學生， 聯合書院於2012年及其後數年須相應增加資源，以配合各項獎助學金及學生活動。書院將藉著五十五周年院慶推行籌款活動，並由2011年1月1日至2012年7月30日期間，凡捐贈港幣一萬元或以上者，將鐫名於日後建於聯合書院校園的銘謝牌匾上。

United College 55th Anniversary Fund Raising

The College has organised a series of activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of United College.

With the implementation of the 3-3-4 academic reform, United College will admit a double cohort of students in 2012. A fundraising campaign is launched with the College’s 55th Anniversary celebrations, so as to meet the various needs and challenges ahead arising from the increased student numbers in 2012-2015. The College will establish a donations commemorative plaque on the College campus in recognition of the generous support of donors for donations of HK$10,000 or above received during the 55th anniversary celebration period from 1 January 2011 to 31 July 2012.

Appointment of Acting Head

Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, was on leave on 11, 13-14 July 2011. Professor Chang Song-hing, Associate College Head and Associate Dean of General Education, was the Acting College Head during the above period.
署理輔導長任命

副院長兼輔導長王香生教授於2011年7月3至10日到訪英國牛津大學哈特福學院，上述期間由藥劑學院李詠恩教授出任署理輔導長。
Appointment of Acting Dean of Students

Professor Stephen H S Wong, Associate College Head and Dean of Students, visited Hertford College, University of Oxford, UK from 3 to 10 July 2011. Professor Vivian W Y Lee, School of Pharmacy was the Acting Dean of Students during the above period.
聯合國術會消息

由香港中國國術龍獅總會主辦的第三十屆全港公開國術群英會於2011年5月22日假沙田源禾路體育館舉行，聯合國術會積極參與，派出多位導師及學員參與比賽。結果取得兩項季軍、一項殿軍、三項優異獎、九項一等獎及四項二等獎，書院謹致衷心祝賀﹗
College Martial Arts Society News

Organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Martial Arts Dragon and Lion Dance Association Limited, the 30th Martial Arts Self-Attainment Award Display was held on 22 May 2011 at Yuen Wo Road Sports Centre. The United College Martial Arts Society took part in the event and attained two third-prize, one fourth-prize, three outstanding awards, nine first-class prizes and four second-class prizes in total. Our heartfelt congratulations to the Martial Arts Society and the award winners!
湛江湖光岩、雷州半島風情、崖門古戰場四天團

由書院生活委員會、書院教職員聯誼會及書院校友會合辦之「湛江湖光岩、雷州半島風情、崖門古戰場四天團」已於2011年5月7日至10日順利完成，共有四十三位教職員、校友及家屬參加是次活動，反應熱烈。
Four-day Tour to China

A four-day tour to China was co-organised by the UC College Life Committee, Staff Association and Alumni Association from 7 to 10 May 2011.The tour was well-received by forty three staff members, alumni and their families.

由中國科學技術大學學生資助管理中心副部長兼副處長尹紅女士率領下，中國科學技術大學訪問團一行八人於2011年6月3日到訪聯合書院，以了解書院文化及書院的全人發展培養計劃方面所累積的經驗。
