兩位本院校友何禮賢 (03/計算機工程)及潘敬儀(08/英文)分別獲法國政府頒發Alexandre Yersin和Crédit Agricole獎學金，於2011至2012學年負笈法國修讀碩士課程。兩位校友早前出席了頒獎禮，並從法國駐港澳總領事柏雅諾先生手中領取獎項。 何禮賢校友將於2012年1月到歐洲工商管理學院(INSEAD)修讀工商管理碩士課程；潘敬儀校友則將於ESSEC商學院修讀國際商業策略及管理碩士課程。 本院同仁謹致賀忱！ |
| College Alumni Received French Scholarships |
Two UC alumni, Mr Ken L Y Ho (03/CEG) and Ms Kris K Y Pang (08/ENG) have been awarded Alexandre Yersin Excellence Scholarship and Crédit Agricole Scholarship respectively. Ken and Kris attended the scholarships presentation ceremony and received the awards from Mr Arnaud Barthélémy, Consul-General of France in Hong Kong and Macau. Ken will pursue a MBA at INSEAD, starting from January 2012. Kris will work for a master’s degree in strategy and management of international business at ESSEC Business School. The UC Alumni Association organised a luncheon talk on 20 August 2011 (Sat) afternoon at the Graces Restaurant, Causeway Bay. The guest speaker, Mr Ben M P Kwong (83/ECO) delivered a talk to alumni on “The Investment Strategies Under Debt Crisis”. More than 50 alumni participated in this event. |
| 聯合書院五十五周年院慶校友日 |

聯合書院五十五周年院慶校友日將於2011年10月29日（星期六）下午2時至6時於聯合書院校園舉行，聯合校友將一同慶祝書院五十五周年院慶。書院及書院校友會誠邀歷屆聯合校友及家人回母校共聚，互聚情誼，了解母校最新發展情況，加強校友與母校的聯繫。 本年度校友日以「健康樂步行」為主題，歡迎全體校友及家人，扶老攜幼一同參加。同時，書院希望聯合校友身體力行，以步行籌款的形式為書院募捐。當日書院將於學生飯堂舉行院慶生日會及享用下午茶，隨後開始步行活動，書院特設兩條不同的步行路線，分別為路線一：校友徑樹木遊，認識書院校園樹木及參觀校園設施，如宿舍及圖書館等；路線二：登上聯合水塔(籌款額達港幣五百五十元或以上；每節參觀時間為二十分鐘)。完成任何路線的校友可免費參與健康檢查，檢查項目包括骨質疏鬆測試、體適能測試、膽固醇及血糖測試、量度血壓及日常服用藥物檢視等。校友子女亦可免費參與於思源文娛中心舉行的兒童手工皂工作坊，由國際生舍堂榮譽舍監余黃燕萍女士主持。 每位校友可攜同最多三位家人出席。當日節目表及報名詳請參閱: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/AlumniDay2011。校友亦可留意《聯合校友》第37期(2011年9月號)之報名表格。 查詢請電3943 1948與本院陸敏兒女士或余慧儀女士聯絡。 |
| United College 55th Anniversary Alumni Day |

The United College 55th Anniversary Alumni Day will be held on 29 October 2011 (Saturday) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All alumni are invited to join this annual reunion gathering to celebrate the College's 55th Anniversary, keep informed of the latest developments of the College, and to further strengthen the bond with their alma mater. With the theme “Healthy-Sprightly Fun Walk”, the College and the College Alumni Association would like to invite all United College alumni and their family to join the walk activity on Alumni Day this year and raise funds for United College. A birthday party will be held at the College Student Canteen. After the party, alumni can join either routes with their family: Route 1 ― Alumni Trail Tree Walk (to learn more about trees on College campus and to visit College amenities such as hostel and library) and Route 2 ―Water Tower (for donations of HK$550 or above; each visit session lasts for 20 minutes). All participants can join a free-of-charge health check items, including Osteoporosis Test, Physical Fitness Test, Cholesterol and Glucose Test, Blood Pressure Monitoring and Medication Review, etc. Furthermore, the College will organise a Kids’ Soap-making Workshop for children of participating alumni at no charge. Mrs Joan Yu, Lady Warden of I-House would conduct this workshop. Each alumni may bring up to three family members to the event. | Reunion Dinner for Alumni Graduated for 25 Years and 35 Years or above |
To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of United College, the College will organise a Reunion Dinner for Alumni graduated for 25 years and 35 years or above on 29 October 2011 (Alumni Day) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Thomas Cheung Gymnasium, First Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building, United College. The College has sent invitation cards to Class of 1986 and Classes of 1976 or before in late August 2011. For these two groups of alumni,please reserve your time and join this reunion gathering. 本院校友鄭營啟先生(2010 /工管) 憑「廚餘回收製成沙律計劃」獲2011年青年社企創業者大賞，並獲港幣十萬元獎金，以供其社企作營運費用。鄭校友畢業後投身廚餘回收及種植有機食物，將本地廚餘化為有機肥料，結果種出具營養價值的養生沙律及香草。 本院同仁謹致賀忱！ |
| College Alumnus Received Youth Social Entrepreneur Award 2011 |
College alumnus, Mr Jack Y K Cheng (2010/BBA) received Youth Social Entrepreneur Award 2011 with a cash prize HK$100,000 for running his social enterprise. The winning project entitled "Organic Vegetable Salad by Food Wastes Recycling Technology", introduces the way to apply the CNT technology to solve the problem of kitchen wastes. Mr Cheng involved in recycling food waste and organic food plantation after his graduation. By turning local food waste into organic fertilizer, he plants the nutrient vegetables and sweet grass.
