聯合書院五十五周年院慶校友日 |
聯合書院五十五周年院慶校友日將於2011年10月29日（星期六）下午2時至6時於聯合書院校園舉行。書院及書院校友會誠邀歷屆聯合校友及家人回母校共聚，互聚情誼，以了解母校最新發展情況，加強校友與母校的聯繫，並同時慶賀書院五十五歲生日。 聯合書院已安排了一連串的精彩節目，供聯合校友及家人參加。詳情如下： 1:45 pm 書院安排專車於大學港鐵站接載校友到聯合書院 2:00 pm 於本院學生飯堂參與聯合書院院慶生日會及享用下午茶 ＊書院設登記處於飯堂門口，校友可於登記處簽名留念及領取紀念品 3:00 pm 節目一：健康檢查 ＊所有校友及其家人均可免費參與健康檢查 ＊健康檢查內容包括： ＊骨質疏鬆測試–由本院成員兼校友公共衞生及基層醫療學院余素娟女士及本院成員公共衞生及 基層醫療學院翁家俊先生帶領該系學生助手協助校友進行檢查 ＊膽固醇及血糖測試–由本院成員兼校友那打素護理學院周柏珍教授贊助及帶領該系學生助手協 助校友進行檢查 ＊量度血壓及日常服用藥物檢視–由本院陳震夏宿舍舍監、藥劑學院李詠恩教授帶領該系學生助 手協助校友進行檢查，校友及家人更可帶備日常服用的西藥讓藥劑學院的專業人員作即場檢視 ＊體適能測試–由本院副院長兼輔導長、中國香港體適能總會主席王香生教授贊助及由中國香港 體適能總會行政總監黃永森先生帶領該會同事協助測試 ＊健康檢查地點：張祝珊師生康樂大樓二樓學生休息室 節目二：聯合書院健康樂步行 路線一 聯合校園校友徑樹木遊 ＊認識聯合書院校園樹木及參觀校園設施，包括湯若望宿舍及胡忠多媒體圖書館 ＊樹木遊由香港中文大學樹木計劃召集人暨綠色生活教育小組聯絡人 左治強先生帶領及講解 ＊起步地點：聯合書院學生飯堂外空地 路線二 聯合書院水塔步行籌款活動 ＊每組最多四位家庭成員，募捐金額達港幣550元或以上均可參加 ＊每二十分鐘一節，每節人數約二十人 ＊參加者可沿樓梯登上水塔，一窺水塔內裏乾坤，亦可居高臨下飽覽 書院及吐露港景色（由於安全問題，水塔頂部恕未能開放） ＊基於安全考慮，1.2米以上人士方可參加路線二，校友可考慮讓1.2米以下小童參與兒童手工皂工作坊，書院可安排護幼服務 節目三：兒童手工皂工作坊 ＊由國際生舍堂榮譽舍監余黃燕萍女士主持 ＊歡迎年滿四歲或以上的小朋友連同須一名家長陪同參加 ＊工作坊地點：鄭棟材樓思源文娛中心 6:00 pm 校友日活動完畢，安排專車接載校友返回大學港鐵站 報名辦法： 1. 登入校友日網頁：http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/AlumniDay2011，以網上註冊方式登記出席是次活動。校友更可瀏覽此網頁以了解書院校友日的最新消息； 或 2. 填妥附於《聯合校友》2011年9月號之活動回條，於10月24日前傳真至2603 5412，或寄回香港中文大學聯合書院學生輔導處； 或 3. 直接致電3943 1948向本院余慧儀女士報名，或致電郵 alumni-uc@cuhk.edu.hk 報名均可。 每位校友可攜同最多三位家人出席，費用全免。查詢請致電3943 8654與本院高級書院發展主任陸敏兒女士或3943 1948與余慧儀女士聯絡。 |
| United College 55th Anniversary Alumni Day |

Co-organised by the College and the College Alumni Association, the United College 55th Anniversary Alumni Day will be held on 29 October 2011 (Saturday) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All alumni are invited to join this annual reunion gathering to celebrate the College's 55th Anniversary, keep informed of the latest developments of the College, and to further strengthen the bond with their alma mater. The college has prepared a list of programmes for all United College alumni and their families on 29 October. The programmes are appended as follows: 1:45 pm Shuttle bus from University MTR Station to UC Campus 2:00 pm Anniversary Birthday Party with a tea buffet at the United College Student Canteen ＊Reception counter will be set at the entrance the canteen. Participating alumni can sign at the reception and get souvenir. 3:00 pm Programme 1 – Health Check ＊Free-of-charge health check for United College alumni and family members ＊Health check items: ＊Osteoporosis Test – College members, Ms Janice S K Yue and Mr Tony K C Yung, School of Public Health and Primary Care, will lead the school students to conduct the test ＊Cholesterol and Glucose Test – College member, Professor Janitor Chau, The Nethersole School of Nursing, will sponsor and lead the school students to conduct the test ＊Blood Pressure Monitoring and Medication Review – Warden of Chan Chun Ha Hostel, Professor Vivian W Y Lee, School of Pharmacy, will lead the school students to conduct the test. Alumni and their family members can bring along the daily medicine for review. ＊Physical Fitness Test – Sponsored by Professor Stephen H S Wong, Associate College Head and Dean of Students, as well as Chairman, Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China. Mr Sam Wong, Executive Director of the Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China, will lead their colleagues to conduct the test. ＊Health check venue：Student Common Room, Second Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building Programme 2 – Healthy-Sprightly Fun Walk Route 1 – Alumni Trail Tree Walk ＊to learn more about trees on College campus and to visit College amenities such as hostel and library ＊Mr George C K Jor, Convener of the CU Tree Project and Green Education Working Group will lead the tree walk ＊Walk Kickoff Point: Open Area outside United College Student Canteen Route 2 – Water Tower Fund-raising Walk ＊For donations of HK$550 or above, alumni can bring at most three family members to tour at the water tower ＊Each visit session lasts for 20 minutes; about 20 people per session ＊Participants can walk upstairs to the water tower (For safety sake, the roof top of the water tower will not be opened) ＊For safety sake, participants must be taller than 1.2m. Alumni can consider to arrange their children to join the Kids’ Soap-making Workshop. The College will arrange student helpers to take care of them. Programme 3 – Kids’ Soap-making Workshop ＊Conducted by Mrs Joan Yu, Lady Warden of I-House ＊Children aged four or above (and accompanied by a parent) are welcome to join ＊Venue: Si Yuan Amenities Centre, T C Cheng Building 6:00 pm Shuttle bus from UC Campus to University MTR Station Registration Methods: 1. Reunion Dinner for
Alumni Graduated for 25 Years and 35 Years or
above |
To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of United College, the College will organise a Reunion Dinner for Alumni who have graduated for 25 years (1986 graduates) as well as 35 years or above (1976 graduates or before) on Saturday, 29 October 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Thomas Cheung Gymnasium, First Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building, United College. Invitation cards have be sent to classes of 1986 and 1976 or above in early September 2011. The dinner is free for our alumni, while the accompanying guests' will be charged at HK$150 per person. Thank you for the staunch support from alumni, more than 400 guests, alumni and their families made a reply to attend the meaningful Reunion Dinner. To make the reunion dinner a meaningful one, the College welcomes old photo submission during study times from Class of 1986 or Class of 1976 or before. 本院校友獲香港城市大學頒授榮譽院士名銜 |
本院校友葉少康先生(91/統計)於2011年9月22日獲香港城市大學頒授榮譽院士名銜，以表彰他對城大發展及為服務大學所作的重大貢獻。葉少康校友熱心公益，擔任多個非牟利機構董事及義務顧問。他於1995年創立「香港復康力量」，推動傷殘人士復康運動。葉校友代表香港參加2008年殘疾人奧運會馬術比賽。 本院同仁謹致賀枕！ |

College Alumnus as
Honorary Fellow of City University of Hong Kong |
College alumnus, Mr Nelson S H Yip (91/STA) was conferred the title of Honorary Fellow by City University of Hong Kong on 22 September 2011 in recognition of his distinctive contributions to the development of the University and service to the University. Mr Yip serves the community as director and volunteer consultant for many non-profit making organisations. In 1995, Mr Yip founded Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power to help facilitate the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Also, Mr Yip represented Hong Kong to compete in the Paralympic 2008. Our heartfelt congratulations to Mr Yip! |
