3. Qualifications of Applicants:

The application must be
willing to take part actively in academic studies and student life at
University of Washington. The successful candidate should normally have
demonstrated active participation in extra-curricular activities and good
academic performance in his/her first year at United College. |

To get full benefit out of
the scholarship, the applicant must have a good command of English and must
have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). For detailed

4. Financial Terms:

a. |
The selectee will be
required to pay the tuition fees and Student Union Fees of CUHK for the
current year by 2 instalments and the hostel fees and other fees of the
University of Washington. The hostel fees and meal plan for 2004-2005
is HK$26,418.00 (double room) and HK$24,000 respectively. |

b. |
Insurance and travelling expenses to and
from University of Washington as well as other personal expenses will also
be paid by the selectee. |

c. |
The selectee is eligible to
apply for government grant and loan under the JCSF Scheme. |
