Mental illnesses and conditions arising from the lack of mental well being have always been a significant, but often hidden, burden to our society.  In addition to personal suffering, the financial losses, resulting from decrease in productivity, sick days and costs of treatment, etc, are always very high and very difficult to quantify.

Our University is no exception. Due to the complexity of the University community, compounded by the increasing number of non-local students from a very diverse language and cultural background, the burden of mental health is definitely even more than that of the general population.

In collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and the Training Section of the Personnel Office, it aims to improve the awareness of mental health among frontline staff of the University who deals with students.

The program 2006-07 consisted of 7 sessions in the form of lectures or seminars. The first session was held on 2nd March 2006 and the final session was ended on 31 March 2007.
