Long term effects of passive smoking

1) Cancers linked to passive smoking include

Lung cancer
Nasal sinus cavity cancer
Cervical Cancer
Breast cancer
Bladder cancer
2)Effects of passive smoking on our heart and blood vessels

Acute and chronic coronary heart disease
Increased rate of artherosclerosis (hardening of arteries)
Continual exposure to passive smoking double the chance of heart attack

3) Effects to child and infants
Low birth weight for gestational age
Increased risk for miscarriage
Increased risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Increased risk for developing asthma/ Worsen condition of asthma
Increased risk for respiratory infection (e.g. pneumonia, bronchitis)
Increased risk for otitis media (infection of middle ear)
Negative effects on cognitive and behavioral development of child

Increased concentration of respirable suspended particulate in air
