OVERSEAS STUDENT INFORMATION
All non-local students must obtain a student visa in order to study in Hong Kong. Non-local applicants accepted for admission should make their own enquiries about entry visa requirements from their local government, or by writing directly to: The Hong Kong Immigration Department, 7 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.
Non-local candidates who have been given provisional offers by the Division concerned should not come to register at the University until the Graduate School has informed them of the confirmation of their admission. The Graduate School will not accept responsibility for applicants who come to register without such confirmation.
Fees and Expenses
There are three elements in the expenses of a student at Chinese University of Hong Kong:
  1. University fees
  2. Living fees
  3. Traveling expenses
All other costs are the responsibility of the student. These include health insurance, books and entertainment costs. Student should ensure that they have adequate finance to cover your period of study. We estimate that to cover the cost of tuition fee, accommodation and basis living expenses, a student who is self-supporting will need around HK$160,000 (US$20,000) for 12 months study, in addition to traveling expenses, but will naturally depend on a student's tastes, inclinations, and manner of living.
