PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The programmes prepare students to obtain a higher qualification in sports and exercise medicine which consists of two parts:
A. Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) Degree
The Postgraduate Diploma Programme is offered as a part-time programme with one year coursework.
To be eligible for the postgraduate diploma, a student shall complete 15 credit units of 5 required subjects:
The Postgraduate Scheme is based on a credit-based system. On the satisfactory completion of the Postgraduate Diploma, students may proceed to the Master Programme given that they meet the requirements set by the Graduate School. However, the credits are transferable with a validation period of up to 3 years after graduation from the programme. Postgraduate Diploma will also be awarded to MSc students who fail to complete the Master programme but finish the first year coursework study (15 credit units) and fulfill the Postgraduate Diploma graduation requirement. B. Master of Science (MSc) Degree
The Master programme is offered as a two-year part-time degree.
To be eligible for the award, a student shall complete 30 credit units, which include: First year - 6 required subjects (17 credit units):
Second year - 3 required subjects (13 credit units):
What distinguish the MSc programme from the PgDip programme are conducting a research project, attending clinical attachment, and participation in sports medicine related conferences or courses. Remarks:
Full-time mode of MSc programme will be offered subject to the number of successful applicants. Please refer to "Course Outline" for more information about each subject.
