On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is with my greatest pleasure to announce that the first Sports Medicine And Rehabilitation Therapy Convention, SMART Convention 2007, will be held at the Postgraduate Education Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong on June 9-10, 2007. It is indeed an exciting and heartening event, featuring the official launch of the innovative SMART Membership Scheme.

SMART Convention is the first-ever convention of this scale in Hong Kong which aims to improve the professional standard of exercise-for-health services and rehabilitation services after sports and occupational injuries, as well as to encourage all segments of society to enjoy the benefits of exercise. The SMART Convention is going to be a once-a-year opportunity for the industry to present products and services in front of sports physicians, sports scientists, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, allied health professionals, and professionals from sports and other related industries with the backdrop of the SMART Membership Scheme. This premier event is jointly organized by CUHK-WHO Collaborating Centre for Sports Medicine and Promotion and Asian Federation of Sports Medicine, with the support of various local and international sporting organizations.

We seek to utilize this Convention as the platform, gathering the international and local experts in the field of sports medicine and rehabilitation science, to promote a better standard of sports related services, products and professional development. In addition to an exhibition, this premier convention will also complemented with a stimulating programme, including seminar, course and workshop. The seminar essentially encompasses the latest advances on footwear, sports injury prevention, sports rehabilitation, performance enhancement and exercise & fitness promotion while extensive satellite Team Physicians Development Course will also be held to equip the participants with the state-of-the-art knowledge and essential skills in the management of sports injuries.

The SMART convention 2007 is surely a "must-attend" event for all those involved in sports and rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity not only to meet and exchange your experience and expertise with the world experts and professionals but also to savor the superb hospitality of the sporting fraternity.
