中 大 七 书 院 逾 二 千 新 生 参 与 迎 新 营 会 师 活 动
香港中文大学于8月26日举行每年一度的「书院会师显创意」活动，逾2,000名本届新生齐集大学本部林荫大道，合作砌出「CUHK♥」图案，体现团结精神。
过去，「书院会师显创意」 由大学与崇基、新亚、联合及逸夫四书院同学组成的筹委会合办，目的为增强新生对中大及所属书院的归属感，同时亦彰显四所书院的团结精神。去年首次增加晨兴和善衡两所新书院；今年，随着新成立的和声书院招收第一批新生，合共七所书院的新生聚首一堂，呼叫口号和进行砌字活动，场面壮观。
内地生于去年首次参与会师，反应甚佳。今年，国际生亦首度参与活动，来自不同地区的新生打破语言、文化的界限，一同感受「中大人」无分彼此的融合精神。

CUHK Students Awarded Scholarships

Seven students of the Department of Physics and the Faculty of Engineering were awarded the Professor Charles K. Kao Research Exchange Scholarships this year to go on research exchange at prestigious universities in the UK and the US.
七名物理系及工程学院本科生，获颁本年度「高锟教授科研交流生奖学金」，前赴英美顶尖学府进行科研交流。

Executive Leadership Programme in Global Finance
全 球 金 融 菁 英 领 导 研 讨 班
The Institute of Global Economics and Finance has successfully
concluded its first Executive Leadership Programme in Global Finance on 21
January 2011. It will be offering its second Executive Leadership
Programme in Global Finance on 19 – 23 September 2011. The five-day
Programme will feature three Nobel Laureates in Economic Sciences:
Professor James A. Mirrlees, Professor Robert A. Mundell, and Professor
Myron S. Scholes.
全球经济及金融研究所举办的第一期「全球金融菁英领导研讨班」已于2011年1月21日圆满结束。研究所将于2011年9月19至23日举办第二期「全球金融菁英领导研讨班」，在五天的精彩课程中，多名国际星级讲师将作专题演讲，其中包括三位诺贝尔经济科学奖得主詹姆斯．莫理斯爵士 (Professor Sir James A. Mirrlees)、罗伯特．蒙代尔教授 (Professor Robert A. Mundell)、迈伦．斯科尔斯教授 (Professor Myron S. Scholes)。

Shaw College Hosts Inaugural 'World Youth
Leaders Forum'
各 国 青 年 精 英 汇 聚 中 大 探 讨 金 融 风 暴 后 的 世 界 秩 序 
Co-organized by Shaw College at CUHK and The
National University of Malaysia, the inaugural ‘World Youth Leaders Forum’
(WYLF) was held from 20 to 22 July. With the theme ‘Re-shaping the
Post-crisis World Order’, WYLF invited almost 70 young leaders from over
10 countries and regions to exchange
views.
逸夫书院与马来西亚国立大学在7月20至22日合办首届「世界青年领袖论坛」，近七十位来自十多个国家及地区的青年精英云集逸夫书院，就「重组金融风暴后的世界秩序」这议题交换意见。

Creative Apps to Celebrate Engineering’s 20th Anniversary
创 意 程 式 贺 工 程 学 院 二 十 周 年
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Faculty of Engineering launched the ‘Apps Design Competition’ in March, requiring participating students to use the Faculty’s 20th anniversary as the theme to design innovative, fun, and engaging Apps for iPhone and Android platforms. The competition comprised two categories: CUHK Engineering Students and Full-time Secondary Students. There were a total of four winning entries, and the champions’ designs by CUHK engineering students are now available for free download at www.erg.cuhk.edu.hk/20th_Anniversary.
今年是工程学院成立二十周年，该系于本年3月举办「应用程序设计比赛」，参赛学生以二十周年院庆为主题，运用iPhone或Android作设计平台，糅合创意思维及科技知识，编写出新颖及饶有趣味的应用程序。比赛分为中大工程学生组别及全日制中学生组别，共有四项优胜的应用程序设计获奖。工程学生组别的得奖程序已上载至学院二十周年网页（www.erg.cuhk.edu.hk/20th_Anniversary）供免费下载。

熙熙攘攘的人群，鳞次栉比的高楼，流光四溢的霓虹灯招牌，是经常出现在电视电影中关于香港的影像。从某些方面看，中大和总带给人繁忙都市印象的香港有那么点格格不入。在相思树下，可以和同学躲着骄阳漫步聊天；去上课的路上，能够听到小桥旁哗哗的流水；吃饭的时候，总有麻雀跳上桌想分点吃的......这个校园，有着喧嚣中的宁静。
不过在宁静的校园氛围中，学业的压力却是少不了的。教授每周的授课时间不多，自觉地学习很重要。同学有很多课余时间可以自由安排，可以参加各种各样的社团，文化活动，像美食节，文化节，在领略不同文化的同时，也可以展示自己家乡的文化。我现在还对去年中秋，在校园里吃到家乡的臭豆腐感到兴奋不已。当然，也可以利用许多交流、实习的机会。我在大三的时候去了美国德克萨斯州立大学交流，毕业后到了普华永会计师事务所道工作。除了好好学习天天向上，困难事也少不了。记得最开始因为不懂粤语，连老师点自己名都不知道，不过现在也能用粤语交流了。
总觉得大学四年太快，快到来不及记下发生的事，今天回忆了一下，才发现，
在中大生活的点滴，从来都在心上。

recipient of the scholarships and I would like to express my sincere

selection interviews and the award presentation ceremony.
