Project Objectives

The project aims at building a content-rich website that enhances T&L activities at the Faculty of Social Science. The website includes the following components – outcome based approach adopted by the eight programmes, approaches adopted in foreign institutions, teaching experience sharing among teachers, case studies on e-learning approaches, and student-contributed articles and exemplary student works.

Description of process and deliverables

The intention was to involve teachers and students in the Faculty to establish a platform on which teaching and learning experiences could be shared. During the duration of the project, a website has been built and the basic skeletal framework is now in place. However, as the project only lasted for 10 months, not all contents have been uploaded. The objectives of the project have remained unchanged and given another 6 months, all the intended contents will be uploaded and by then all objectives will be fulfilled.

Evaluation of outcomes

The following contents have been uploaded – OBA statements of the Faculty and its eight constituent programmes, and T&L approaches adopted by leading institutions around the world. Both English and Chinese versions are available.

The following contents will be uploaded in the next 6 months.-- Sharing of teaching experience from award-winning teachers, case studies on pilot runs concerning e-learning approaches in two courses, exemplary student works, and student experience sharing on experiential learning.

In the coming two years, new faculty package courses under the new curriculum will undergo piloting and quality student essays in these courses will also be uploaded. There will also be contributions by individual programmes on best practices within their domains.

Dissemination of results & deliverables

The project has been widely publicized among teachers and students in the Faculty. As the website may be relevant to aspiring secondary school students as well, it will also be widely publicized to JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants.
