Project Objectives

This project aims at developing a multimedia self-learning kit of live cell imaging for students to learn Cell & Developmental Biology

Key deliverables expected and timelines for completion

  • Establishing transgenic cell lines, plants and animals expressing various GFP-tagged organelle markers
  • Studying and capturing real-time movies of transgenic cell lines, plants and animals
  • Developing the multimedia self-learning kit
  • Evaluation and dissemination
  • Arrangements for evaluation of project deliverables/outcomes

  • Oral and written feedback will be collected from students taking Cell Biology and Developmental Biology courses
  • Questionnaires will be distributed and collected from the audience of seminars/ workshops
  • The comments will be carefully reviewed and considered for improving the self-learning kit in a timely fashion
  • Means for disseminating project deliverables/outcomes

  • The real-time movies will be used as the teaching tools in the Cell Biology and Developmental Biology courses
  • The self-learning kits will be distributed in seminars/ workshops to other departments, universities as well as high schools
  • The self-learning kits will be available on websites for public download
