  • Abstract

Abstract

  • With the advancement in instructional practices and educational technologies, more and more universities are providing teachers with one-on-one consultations to facilitate the adoption of eLearning teaching practices and enhancement of teaching effectiveness.
  • In order to support CUHK teachers in sustaining practice of teaching excellence, this proposed project aims to offer personalized consultation services to teachers to re/design innovative pedagogical approaches. Apart from working in partnership with teachers in implementation of eLearning on course level, the project will facilitate the formation of eLearning Liaison Persons (eLLPs) in each department/ programme to promote new pedagogical and eLearning practices, as well as initiate programme-level curricular innovations.
  • The personalized pedagogical consultation services will be offered by professional instructional designers. The ADDIE model1• will be adopted to ensure a streamlined instructional design approach that focuses on feedback for continuous improvement.
  • An eLLP acts as the bridge between departmental colleagues and the people who provide central eLearning support services. The role of an eLLP is to channel eLearning needs or requests from the programme or individual teachers to us, so that we can provide the most relevant training opportunities. They also channel information about our services and events back to their fellow teachers and curriculum developers.
1 The ADDIE model is a frequently used instructional design framework which includes the following stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. It is a process-based approach to developing teaching and learning content and incorporating feedback throughout (Molenda, 2015).
