  • Abstract

Abstract

  • The objective of this project is to develop eLearning modules to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to enhance the university teaching resources available.
  • A local survey in 2018 found that young people in Hong Kong lack awareness of SDGs, and the lack of locally relevant teaching courses and materials limits students’ appreciation of this important topic and their future participation.
  • We propose an eLearning course with eight modules on various health-related SDGs with locally relevant learning materials. Students will understand how health is influenced by environment, food, water, security, equity, poverty, gender equality, trade, and migration. They will appreciate that good health has a positive impact on economic growth and cultural development.
  • eLearning is an effective and wide-reaching method for knowledge dissemination. The proposed eLearning cases will link up with CUHK’s university-wide SDG initiatives and complement other general education courses in various Colleges and departments to provide optimal learning results.
