General Reminders

• Check out the ZOOM Instructor Guide

• Adopt "Best Practices for Securing Your ZOOM Meetings" to secure your online classes

• Consider using the new features "Focus mode", "Immersive View", "Real-time transcription" for your online classes if applicable

  • Visit the ZOOM Learning Centre and check out additional features
• Review and remove not-in-use old ZOOM cloud recordings regularly.  Consider using Panopto to share recorded lectures with students for better analytics
• Contact the eLearning team if you need help with allowing students access to specific software for their practices at home.  The team can assist you in reviewing whether services  (e.g. Microsoft Azure Lab Services, CloudSwyft Virtual Lab Solution) are available to help

Open Q&As sessions and additional workshops

Open Q&As sessions

• Additionally, two "open Q&As" ZOOM sessions have been scheduled at 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm on Jan 25 (Tue) and Jan 27 (Thurs)
• The sessions intend to allow colleagues to meet and discuss online teaching and learning related questions, educational technologies, the pedagogical uses for supporting online teaching and learning under the current situation.  
• Professor Paul Lam (CLEAR & ELITE) and Judy Lo (ITSC & ELITE) will be the session facilitators. 

Additional workshops

• CLEAR has originally scheduled to organize the "Tips on Hybrid Teaching" workshop on Jan 26.  The topic of this workshop will change to "Online Teaching".  A workshop on "Enriching interactions using uReply" is being planned as well.  For details, please refer to the CLEAR website. 

Envision the Future of CUHK eLearning - ELITE

The newsletter is sent to all academic staff (all ranks; full-time and part-time) according to information provided by the Human Resources Office by email regularly. With the feedback received, this newsletter is sent additionally to all users in 2021-22 Blackboard courses with course instructor role and TA / Support Staff role. Please help to share the information with staff/student TAs and colleagues with teaching support duties of your unit.
