"Use of Generative AI in Education" Workshop Series

There have been a lot of discussions around the use of generative AI in education, with tools like ChatGPT being at the forefront of the recent talks.

CLEAR and ITSC are planning a workshop series to explore and discuss the use of generative AI in education (which will be conducted in March tentatively).  We would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, concerns, and questions on this topic.  As a teacher, your experiences and insights are invaluable in helping us understand the potential of this technology and the challenges and opportunities it presents.

If you are not following the news, below is a sample video we have created to showcase the content generation and media production capabilities of the generative AI tools available in the market (i.e. also accessible to the students).  We have also asked ChatGPT to prepare the talking script of a presentation on "Chat GPT in education: Challenges, Issues, and Opportunities" for your reference.

  • Sample video (link) - Which component(s) of the sample video do you think were generated/enhanced using AI tools?
  • Talking scripts on "Chat GPT in education: Challenges, Issues, and Opportunities" generated by ChatGPT (link)
  • Survey (link)

We will be hosting two additional workshops in February.  Please register to join if you are interested.

Early Feedback Collection System (2022-23 Term 2)

  • Early Feedback Collection System is designed to capture student feedback on individual classes in the middle of the study term to complement the end-of-term Course and Teaching Evaluation (CTE) exercise.  Students will be asked to provide feedback on the following two questions regarding satisfaction with the courses:

             (a)  What are the best aspects of the course so far?
             (b)  Which aspects are most in need of improvement so far?

  • The system will be opened for teachers to review the reports from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm during the period from 14 to 20 February 2023.
  • You are invited to review the reports and, where appropriate, to follow up on any feedback for your course(s).
