First Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony


        The Chinese University of Hong Kong conferred Honorary Fellowships on six distinguished persons at its First Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony today in recognition of their significant contributions to the University and other outstanding achievements.  They were Mr CHENG Hoi Chuen, Vincent , a distinguished banker and an alumnus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Kenneth Edward Frederick HOBBS , a distinguished medical professor and a world-renowned surgeon, Professor HU Shiu Ying , an eminent scholar in plant taxonomy who was on the staff of the University for many years and currently Honorary Professor of Chinese Medicine, Dr LEE Shau-kee , the founder of Henderson Land Development Company Limited, Dr the Honourable Simon LI Fook Sean , a respectable philanthropist and a prominent practitioner in the judiciary in Hong Kong, and Mr LIU Shang Chien, Richard , a distinguished entrepreneur and Chairman of Superior Holdings Limited.

        Dr LEE Hon Chiu, Chairman of the Council of the University presided at the Ceremony.  The Ceremony took place on campus.
