The Department is involved in providing clinical microbiology services at the Prince of Wales Hospital and other hospitals of the New Territories East Cluster. Services include clinical consultations on diagnosis, treatment and patient management in infectious diseases; hospital infection control and antibiotic stewardship programme; as well as laboratory diagnostic services on microbial diseases and detection of antibiotic resistance.

We also provide a broad range of diagnostic services to other members of the community through the University Pathology Services (UPS).
