Clinical epidemiology of such infections, incl. pneumococcal bacteraemia and meningitis study, colonisation of Group B streptococcus in pregnancy, toxic shock syndrome in streptococci.
2.
Surveillance and study of antibiotic resistance determinants and mechanisms of resistance in Streptococcus pneumoniae and other bacteria.
3.
Assessment and development of the laboratory methods for diagnosis, including molecular methods of diagnosis, evaluations and applications of new methods in the clinical setting.
