Ms. Conner was a formidable creative force when she was here, travelling all around the city and islands to photograph with her giant camera, heavy tripod, and her backpack stuffed with the bulky wooden frames used to hold banquet camera film. After long days photographing, she returned to campus and then burned the midnight oil in the dark room. Without a doubt, she will have a fabulous body of new “photography drawings” based on this trip to Hong Kong. We had a glimpse of such new work in the show she mounted after her public talk on campus. In addition to making art while in Hong Kong, Ms. Conner was generous with her time for others, including giving a talk for the alumni associations of Yale and of Harvard Business School. I am glad the Yale-China Association was able to play an instrumental role connecting her with CUHK.It was a pleasure and an honor to be around this artistic whirlwind! Come back to visit again, Lois!
